#255942 24 spell limit

Posted by Stone Wolf on 30 June 2006 - 04:02 PM in Big Picture

A while ago I thought of making a summoned creature that would help with selecting spells for memorization. Basically it would remove some of the first listed spells both from the normal game and from mods so that spells listed later on could be memorized, then replace the earlier spells so that they can be memorized too. I didn't test it out, but it shouldn't be too hard to to. Still very awkward to deal with though. Maybe a spellbook that summons a genie or something...

As for the spell selection screen for learning new spells...I got nothin'. I'd imagine the spell limit is hardcoded, so not even changing the GUI would help.

#252014 Timestop

Posted by Stone Wolf on 24 May 2006 - 02:50 PM in Delusions of the Mind

Iirc, the spell stops time for a certain area, and leaves the caster immune. Anyone outside the timestop area sees everyone but the caster as being frozen. Anyone immune to time stop is therefore just ignoring the magical effect.

If, on the other hand, it's a case of the caster being sped up...I have no idea how to explain away how someone could have immunity. They would have to be able to automatically detect someone entering the time bubble the caster is in and be able to enter it as well.

#241962 What alignment do you play

Posted by Stone Wolf on 28 February 2006 - 09:24 AM in IE Mod Ideas

I tend to play Good characters.  LG is probably the most common, since I like monks and paladins.

#240660 Need some Help with Missing People and Unavailable Areas

Hmm, have you tried to CLUA in Valygar's body?  That might get you through the door of the Sphere.

#240369 Are you still playing PS:Torment?

Posted by Stone Wolf on 13 February 2006 - 02:29 PM in Planescape: Torment

I don't play it often, but I do still play it.  It may not be the best game mechanically, but the story and the characters are worth the time.

#238929 DayNight

Posted by Stone Wolf on 02 February 2006 - 11:58 AM in IE Help

Well, according to iesdp you can change to any specific hour by using a numerical value from 0-23, but I haven't figured out any way to simply advance the clock by a certain number of hours. Well, you could always use Wait with a rather large value, but players probably wouldn't enjoy that too much. ;)

#238382 so now I've done it, too many mods --> performance probs?

Posted by Stone Wolf on 29 January 2006 - 02:35 AM in BGT Archive

Carried containers really do make a huge difference. That's usually the first thing I check when I start getting lag. It's not like I actually need 27 longswords +1...

#237092 DPLAYER2.BCS file

Posted by Stone Wolf on 19 January 2006 - 06:57 AM in IE Help

It's this little blurb from DPlayer2.bcs that's causing that:

IF
  !InParty(Myself)
  HPGT(Myself,0)
THEN
  RESPONSE #100
	SetLeavePartyDialogueFile()
	Dialog(Player1)
	ChangeAIScript("",DEFAULT)
END

Now, I have mods installed but I think that's always in there.  When an NPC joins, the script DPlayer2 is assigned to the Default slot.  Open a save game with NI or another editor and take a look.  When the NPC leaves the group, that block wakes up and removes DPlayer2 from the slot.  Like SConrad said, the NPC specific override script is a good place for any actions you want to take place if the NPC gets booted.

#235365 One last round of ale on me...

Damn, it's sad to see you go. You were responsible for getting a lot of people interested in modding, and helping them whenever they got stuck. I'm one of them. I'll have to work hard to get my mod done so I can guilt-trip you into playing it. ;) You're still going to be hanging out, like, 4 years from now, right? ;)

Thanks for all you've done for IE modding, and I wish you the best of luck with whatever your new hobby is. Posted Image

#229069 hum... I can't go to hell!

Posted by Stone Wolf on 20 November 2005 - 01:17 PM in Big Picture

I think this is what you were looking for...

First, go to the empty temple use the CLUAConsole to CreateCreature("baurian").  Talk to him and he'll do the correct dialogue, but he won't send you to hell--it just doesn't happen.

CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("dd8002")  Tartarus is just to the right of where you show up.  Just make sure you have your entire party selected, or only part of your group will get moved to the new area.

Okay, loot the claw as normal  after the battle.  Everything is okay until you get teleported back to the temple and--suprise suprise--the new Baurian won't be there.  CreateCreature("baurian2") him in and talk to him.  Like me you aren't getting the final wish, so all I did was MoveToArea ("dd8000b") to get to the drow encampment.  Just walk around a bit in there and Jarlaxle will show up.

Of course you've noticed that without the final wish you don't appear to be drow.  Well, when I do this (three times so far, 2 different installations) Jarlaxle doesn't notice this.  Not very observant, is he?

Give that a go, and tell us if it works.

#227473 Time for a new portrait pack?

Posted by Stone Wolf on 04 November 2005 - 02:07 PM in IE Mod Ideas

Heh, I almost typed Penii for the record.

I feel inclined to share a story. I was working room service at a rather large hotel. Since it is international I will not mention the name. I will say it is owned by a man who's daughter loves to embarass herself on TV in shows like "The Simple Life". Not the one that shares her last name, but the larger ones they also own that are set up for conventions.

We had a regular guest room service and the cleaning staff called "Mr TuTu". He was called that because that was one of his favorite outfits.

I had the "pleasure" of taking him dinner, while he was dressed only in fishnet stockings once.

Not trying to be mean, but I wanted to burn my eyes out with one of my cigarettes.....

To quote a Saturday Night Live skit that I love: "You have led a horrifying life." ;)

#224933 To Icelus R.E. The Modlist

I'd assume that mods would only be placed in the joke category if the author requested it.

#222012 Which class do you want to choose?

Posted by Stone Wolf on 16 September 2005 - 02:39 AM in Delusions of the Mind

Innkeeper. That way I can spend my days hanging about with interesting people. If a problem arises in the inn, some kindly GM will turn me into a retired 30th level character and have me kick butt. :)

I just saw a couple dragons from BG1 and 2. :)

#221813 Compendium Released

It looks like 2E, going by the list of books info was taken from. It also includes BG1 and 2, which are 2E.

Ah, apparently they do eat, but they don't have to. They seem to get their energy from that common source.
