Weird behaviour (crazy Cadderly)

Hello!

As I finally decided to start playing, I must immediately face the horror of a heavily modded BGT game ( :lol: ).

One problem has been already solved by Ascension64 this very day at installation level but now, after just 30 mins, I get another one.

After Gorion's death, I head towards Candlekeep and once there, the dialogue window loops the same line over and over with few secs wait between each line:

"Cadderly:Inventory Full. Item dropped on ground."

At first one main question, which could nothing to do with your problem:

I see you have not installed the "BiG World Fixpack", which we recommend for megamods (yes, you can use it without the BWP). But I know, that you have collected patches. Do you think, you have fixed all needed things in the mods and things which are needed to get all mods compatible in a megamod?

Can you test some things:

What happens, if you leave the area? Is the textmessage stopping?

What happens, if you leave the area (where Gorions died) directly to the east? Comes there the same problem?

No, I don't use the BWF patches because I think I have already collected all the patches I need for my game.

Of course, as you can see, bugs are still there. I guess it is impossible (with new mods) to make the game completely seamless. I try to limit the amount of bugs as much as I can but I think some are to be expected.

Anyway, the bug has obviously to do with one NPC in the area. As soon as I leave the area, the message stops its loop and if I go East when Chapter 2 starts, the bug won't be there of course.

My suspect is that some script is broken but it's just a suspect.

I don't know things well enough to understand how I can troubleshoot the problem myself and that's why I am abusing of Ascension64's kindness, posting my problem here. :whistling:

In fact, I seriously doubt BGT can be the culprit.

Just a few Q's that may help diagnose what is happening.

Is it a dialog loop with the guard or it happens without even talking to him?


Do you get items or does it just say "inventory full" over and over without getting anything?

I haven't tried the 107 flavor yet of BGT but this hasn't happened in 105 or 106?

Can you copy paste the BCS contents for that area and maybe search through Baldur.BCS for that area name and copy blocks pertaining to that area in the Baldur.BCS if there are any?

UPDATE: Now the same is happening to Silke in Beregost.

UPDATE 2: I faced Silke and I noticed immediately that there was loot at her feet. During the fight she kept dropping items on the floor (potions, for the most). The game is totally spoiled by all this.

the BGT version is 1.07 and what happens has nothing to do with my party's action. The NPCs are not even in sight.

I don't get any item. I just get to read those lines over and over.

Very peculiar.

The cause has been found!

Going through the painful process of uninstalling everything backwards and test on game, I could find out what messes the game.

It's one of the main components from SCS version 9:

Smarter mages -> Mages use spells from BG1 and BG2; mages do not pre-buff: v9

I will continue the troubleshooting of this issue over at G3 to not bother the BGT Forum any longer with something that has to do with it only indirectly.

No, in my test both Option 2 and 4 (with and without prebuffing) for both Smarter Mages and Smarter Priests cause the critical bug.
