Is Shar Nadal invincible ? I always bring her to 'Near death' state, but then she starts chopping all my party members, hitting on every swing of her blade and killing everyone, and no one can hit her anymore. Also she is impervious to all magic, including Magic Missile, Cloudkill, Horror, Web, etc.
Also, she is not hit by missile weapons, no matter what arrows i put (including Arrows of Dispelling), she doesn't get hit.

I have a high level party (for BG1), everyone is level 10 - level 11. Armor classes for my fighters range from -9(my character) to -14(Jaheira); Jaheira also has permanent blur effect on her, and she still gets hit by Shar Nadal's sword. The weapons i have are great for BG1 (all are +3). Also, Nadal's sword has a big chance to kill on a single strike.
Defensive Harmony, Prayer, Haste, all seem to have no effect against her.

I don't know what to do. :(

Always died for me. What version of BGT-Weidu do you have? I haven't tested this with the newer beta4 package. Maybe a script is different now. She should have a globe of invulnerability around her so that should stop some of the spells against her. Not sure about the arrows though; they should work.

I cast a Cloudkill before she casts a Globe of invulnerability, and i get only Shar Nadal:Magic Resistance. She is not invincible to melee attacks until she draws her sword. After that nothing can touch her; she was Near Death and she killed my entire party many times. Swords, arrows, spells, nothing can touch her after she draws her sword. I'm using the beta4 BGT.
I mean, it's kind of weird; Sarevok, supposedly the toughest fighter in game is a chicken compared to Shar Nadal.

Okay, I will have to look into it later. I don't have a BGT-Weidu version 4 game installed yet. Use CTRL-Y on her for now to kill her off. You might want to check her equipment and see which items gives her such a magic resistance. I think it is the armor but I am not sure right now.

Her armor is a drow plate +5, so it shouldn't protect her like that. I think she might have very high 'natural' resistances to magic.

Yes he does have a high resistance to magic and the major elements (except cold) as well. Cold based weapons will work against him along with normal weapons.

I always thought Shar Nadal's powers were due to some special favor of Lolth.
... ...
OK, actually I thought Nadal was so tough because the mod-creator used cheese tactics to beef him up.
Now that I can actually understand some of the coding in the BCS file, I think what makes Nadal so difficult is a scripting oversight. There was no condition at the end of the script to stop Nadal from casting two spells over and over and over and... So you had to be LUCKY in order to kill him before those spells were recast.

Yovanneth Scet made a modification to the script that corrected this problem. I had been using it in my MegaInstall, but I only recently learned (after Nadal kicked my ass several times) that the correction is for BG1 version of DSotSC. :P
I then compared the current BGT version and Yovanneth's to see what could be changed.

I made a MegaInstall version which keeps the same logic as both versions, yet has just two "corrections":
- In Yovanneth's version (and also possibly from the original), Nadal got something like 5 or 6 chance to cast a particular spell. It does not look like this was an oversight. I reduced the casting chance to one. (I can't remember but I think this spell was not in the BGT version.)
- For the two spells at the end of the script, Nadal gets only one chance to cast either. No more cheese, er, script oversight.

I tested it and it worked without problem.

open DSSHAR.BCS in a game editor, replace ALL of its lines with the contents of the attached file...
(*or* BEFORE INSTALLING DSotSC, put the attached file DSSHAR.BAF into \DSotSC\BAF folder)

then go show Nadal not to mess with a Bhaalspawn!

{I had previously attached Yovanneth's version to my signature link. I have removed that and replaced it with the MegaInstall version. If you had used the older version, please replace it with this new version.}

What is the original name and location of your modified DSSHAR.bcs file? I'm not finding that file name anywhere in the DSotSC directory. I'd like to try and place it in the proper location in the DSotSC directory before installation to see if that works as well.

DSSHAR.BCS

When researching this I looked at the scripts assigned to Nadal (using NI). I thought I would find 'SHAR.BCS' but instead found 'DSSHAR.BCS'

The BCS is compiled from \DSotSC\BAF\DSSHAR.BAF during the mod's installation. I don't know how BAFs can be edited. {Cool - just learned that BAFs are just text files.}

Almost all DSotSC files were renamed DS?????.??? so I wouldn't have any incompatibilities with other mods in the BG2 game space.

BTW, KD has gone through the game and fixed some of the scripts (I just ported them from BG1 to BG2 and fixed the immediate bugs - since I could defeat everyone in the game, I figured nothing was too broken). So you may find that version 1.85 and future versions should not have the scripting problems you are encountering now.
