Before using something like WinDiff, I just eyeballed differences between the two versions (Worldmap v5 and v6.3).

There are few differences - v6.3 has a Components folder containing the file component.2da which in turn, contains only "// 1". V5 had an empty backup folder, and a wmp folder containing two files (worldm25.wmp and worldmap.wmp) that may have been deprecated by version 6.3.

The other files are pretty much the same, except for the .mos file (compressed to .moz) which I figure is the worldmap itself - and the translation files. These files are significantly different:

Setup.tra (translation file v5):

the problem, however, is that none of them, to my knowledge, use Tutu - so they (and we) need someone who has Tutu (whichever version it is that doesn't like v6.4) to tell us what exactly isn't working.

Ok, well it's pretty simple. Tutu crashes to desktop when starting or loading a game after installing Worldmap v6.3.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Make sure clean install of BG1 + BG2 present.
2) Download and install EasyTutu per instructions (it doesn't touch either BG1 or BG2 so all you need is about 3-4GB of drive space).
3) Install latest Worldmap in Tutu folder.
4) Start a new game.

Expected behavior:
After about 3/4 way through loading process, the program crashes to a black window about 640x480 that has to be manually terminated.

Like I said earlier, Worldmap v5 *does* install properly in Tutu and the map is visible. So I don't know if I need full knowledge of how the map works, but the differences between v5 and v6.3 would help. Also if there's a newer version (6.4 you said?) out there, if you could point me in the direction of it so I can test that. All that's on the Wizard's mirror is v5 and v6.3.

I can try to muster up some Tutu expertise too - we're thinking maybe the map is trying to find area links present in BG1 but have been renamed in Tutu or something.

Cheers,
-Miloch

The Tutu problem is being worked on. The v6.3 processing is very different from the v5 processing. The links in v6.3 account for the renaming of the areas. Once a solution is determined I'm sure a modified .tp2 will be released.

Ok, no worries then. :) If you could use help figuring out the Tutu side of things, there are people at G3 who could assist. An explicit changelog between v5 and v6.3 would go far toward figuring this out (perhaps Yacomo or King Diamond has this?).

Problem solved. Next worldmap version will be compatibel with SoBH and EasyTUTU. :D

Installation order:
1) Make sure clean install of BG1 + BG2 present.
2) Download and install EasyTutu per instructions (it doesn't touch either BG1 or BG2 so all you need is about 3-4GB of drive space).
3) SoBH latest Version
4) Install latest Worldmap in Tutu folder.

Great news. Where do I get the latest version? The Wizard's mirror at http://america.iegmc.net/worldmap/ only has v5 and v6.3 currently. Or if you don't have an official version released yet, I'd be happy to beta test any fixes.

We need a little bit more time for release. :)

Does anyone have a status update on this?

In the meantime, could someone please post the CLUA/MoveToArea workaround codes necessary to start this mod in the absence of updated worldmap links? I'd like to be able to add this info to our Tutu compatibility list.

Also, since the Worldmap seems to be a much larger project, would it be feasible to update the Tutu-compatible portion of this mod with an option to simply add the relevant area link(s) to the existing worldmap? This might be a better option anyhow for Tutu players, rather than having to install the full Worldmap including inaccessible (BG2/BGT) areas.

Thanks,
-Miloch

There are some things that concern me about this also. Is the big worldmap easy to add to through coding or does it have to be installed with the new areas already present?

Also what about setting up a seperate forum for the Worldmap project?

That'd be nice. I was looking for that too before I ended up posting here.

Anyone still looking at this? *tap tap* Is this thing on? *crickets chirping*

Original thread here: http://forums.gibber...s...c=9263&st=0

Just noticed right now, when I installed the Bone Hill Mod:

After the Dialog says it is unpacking the Bone Hill files:

The dialog window/DOS Window shows many lines of "System can not find specified file".

Should I be worried about this?

It went fine after all, I think, because I got the line: "Press any key to continue" at the end, it then showed me the readme.txt, and the DOS Window went away.

Just registered.

Downs Duck.

Your install will be fine. It's just looking for the files from the opposite type of install you didn't use, in this case BGT.

Anyone know the DOS command to block out the echo to the screen so people don't see this? I guess I could separate out eveything and use GOTO commands but ugh, just the thought.

The old one was
@ECHO OFF

or something - one way to check is to grab EasyTutu or one of the BAT files from the SFX installers and see what the syntax is they use to suspend and then reenable the screen data log

but you could also do the

ACTION_IF FILE_EXISTS_IN_GAME ~FW0100.ARE~ THEN BEGIN
COPY_EXISTING ~all my tutu resources~
END ELSE BEGIN
COPY_EXISTING ~all my BGT resources~
END

or check with Miloch on his interesting SPRINT usage...

Ah, good old DOS. Brings a tear to me eye it does. :crying:

@ECHO OFF should work, and it looks like BHAreas.bat begins with this. But you could get sneakier, even within a DOS batch file, such as:
cd override
IF EXIST some_tutu_file_in_override_by_default (
	 move override\_some_tutu_script.bcs
 ) ELSE (
	 move override\some_bgt_script.bcs
 )
And if you need a reference for Tutu/BGT areas, you can check this (but that homework's probably already been done in this case).

As for the TP2 (the preferred route, though there may be reasons you can't do everything in WeiDU), it would be as cmorgan says, only something like:
ACTION_IF FILE_EXISTS_IN_GAME ~FW0100.ARE~ THEN BEGIN
 OUTER_SPRINT "tsu" "_" //assigns Tutu underscore
 OUTER_SPRINT "DTCL" "FW0501" //Durlag's Tower Cellar
END
ACTION_IF FILE_EXISTS_IN_GAME ~AR7200.ARE~ THEN BEGIN
 OUTER_SPRINT "tsu" "" //no underscore in BGT
 OUTER_SPRINT "DTCL" "ARD001" //Durlag's Tower Cellar
END
COPY_EXISTING ~%tsu%all_non-area_resources~
COPY_EXISTING ~%DTCL%.ARE~ ~override/%DTCL%.ARE~
So you don't have to do separate sections for Tutu/BGT necessarily (only separate variable declaration sections up front, which is a lot shorter and easier ;)).
