BGT is released as a multilanguage modification and it would not be proper or fair to penalize other languages for the sake of the english one (though no doubt it's the most used). We just have to wait (I use the english version as well).

On a side note, Ascension64 said that the diffuse itch for playing BGT 1.05 will bring him to release after a long time a version of BGT without the BGT Tweaks or the new version of BG1 UB for BGT. It seems to me that this is already a big compromise with his own schedule.

So, there will be NO BGT Tweaks or the new version of BG1 UB for BGT in the 1.05 relase? Isn't It just better then to install the 1.04 version?
Or van you manually install the tweaks and UB without screwing WeiDU 1.05 ?

Well, in this case, I would have thought that the developer's made an 'undroppable' version just so that they are 'undroppable'.

Yeah, but they also give them the droppable version - kind of pointless if they wanted both fire arrows to be the same (at least if we're talking about kobold commandos).

We are just waiting for the translations
all the english users have to wait? Can't the translations be released as a different mod/plugin/file and release the english version?

Yes, it could. However, I did say in my previous post that I'm currently having some problems installing it, letting alone doing final testing on it, and that I currently don't have the time to address the problem. I'd like to avoid releasing a screwed-up version of BGT-WeiDU.

New versions of BGTTweak and BG1UB won't be released together with v1.05 of BGT, but they will be done later. The current versions of BGTTweak and BG1UB will install fine on v1.05. The original idea, at least for BGTTweak, for simultaneous releases, was that the new version of BGTTweak adds some new components that complement the new version of BGT-WeiDU. SImultaneous release won't happen this time.

Yeah, but they also give them the droppable version - kind of pointless if they wanted both fire arrows to be the same (at least if we're talking about kobold commandos).

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but what if they only wanted some, but not all, of the arrows to be dropped?

Heh. Now we're really clutching at straws. Then they'd give them fewer arrows of course... :P

Agreed that it's pointless to make two items perfectly identical. So how pointless has it been to create - just to stay on Fire Arrows - two version of undroppable Fire Arrows for the Phoenix Guard and the Kobolds that are absolutely identical?

This just to mean that the developers have done many pointless things before and we can't just use this logic to discriminate what their intentions have been.

That one's easy. Developer A was working on kobold commandos and cloned his own undroppable arrow for them, made it +2. Meanwhile, Developer B was doing the same thing for Phoenix Guards, unbeknownst to Developer A (and vice versa).

So the game goes into pre-production and this is something that slipped through the cracks of QA, you say? Wrong again. QA Tester C is scanning through the objects, sees a +2 applied to both the kobold and phoenix arrows, wonders why it isn't on the generic arrows of fire, and goes ahead and applies that bonus to those arrows too. QA Tester C isn't a proofreader though, and doesn't bother to update the item description.

Yeah, ok, it's speculation. I already said I'm fine with making this an optional component based on the difference of opinion. It would go something like A) Remove +2 bonus from all arrows of fire, B) Remove +2 bonus from normal arrows of fire only. And of course you can choose C) not to install the component, if you like overpowered items in your game :P.

I don't know if BGT offers this kind of option though, so maybe it's best left for a fixpack.

Which is what I suggested later on.

Alright, better stop this before this thread becomes further entwined in Arrows +2 talk.

When 1.05 is released and a clean install has happened, is it better to:
install BGT Tweaks and then the BG1 UB for BGT
or
install BG1 UB for BGT and then install BGT Tweaks

of does it nog matter in what order it is installed?

thanx
