Alright alright, no need to yell or tell me it's impossible because it probably is, but can a man not dream? even for a little bit...

Anyways, for the pass five or so days of replaying Baldur's Gate for the 50th time I've been thinking how awesome it could be if there was an MMORPG using the IE...

So, just for the sake of having fun imagining... what kind of things would you like to see in one?

Me?... the list can go on for ages but heres a few.

Changing the IE a bit to suit an MMORPG more, such as including elements from NWN like the rest system, invetory space, right clicking characters for details and other actions...
A huge detailed worldmap with limits, such as not being able to travel more than 2 maps away to keep it real or so.
DM's like in NWN and events run everyday...

Oh if only it could be so...

Anyways, what would you include? and I even dare and ask... could the IE be -changed- into something like that?
So far people only modded additions or simple engine changes such as giving BG1 the engine of 2... but what if more could be achived?

The IE could not be changed into something like that.

However, if one wanted to do a NWN 1 or 2 mod with a BG setting, that might be fun.
DO ~SetGlobal("omgBbqRomanceActive","GLOBAL", 2)~

Does Mulitplayer work with Total Conversions?

Classic Adventures in Multiplayer might be as close as you'll get to that.

That they are.

Icewind Dale is about as good as IE gets when it comes to multiplayer.
Her lips were red, her looks were free
Her locks were as yellow as gold
Her skin was white as leprosy.
The Nightmare Life-in-Death was she,
Who thicks man's blood with cold.

Should, or at least the solo-multi does, haven't tried the multiplayer, it's boring, and not fun/(personal opinion!).

So...

...how would you know?

I used to play BG:DA as multiplayer with my gf and pinch treasure from her kills, go invis and push her into traps... and well, lots of evil stuff, yeah. It was loads of fun (for me anyway, and that's all that really matters ). Pretty boring game otherwise.

Actually, it doesn't seem that much of an issue. Go HERE and check out 4 threads (10 page limit) of BG goodness. Once this gets done many will finally be able to multiclass that Sorcerer  like they've always wanted.
