Nope, he's an elf, from the Forest of Tethir.

Whoops, my error. For some reason I always remember him as a half-elf. I don't know why.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Coran was incorrectly listed as a half-elf on a few walk-thru sites, and that made a few people think that he is a half-elf. I like Aerie, looking forward to Cernd if you are going to color him. Red Wizards are generally bald to showcase their tatoos and their status as non-slaves in Thay.

I have enlarged and slightly tilted Aerie's eyes (first one is the original, the one underneath is the edited version)
Which one do you guys like better?
Let me know and I'll take one of them off

Second also. Though I don't see a big difference - mainly just a little more contrast, which I like.

Is there an additional character that you guys feel needs a portrait, or doesn't need a portrait? (I'm not sure whether I should do Shar-teel, the in-game version is quite decent...)

I think Shar-Teel and even Viconia could use alternate portraits - hey, the more the merrier, right? And I'd still like to see a dark/"ursine" Minsc. I don't care if he does end up looking like an ape... somehow that'd be fitting ;). And thanks for the alternate Edwin. I'd prefer to see him rather darker, but don't feel like you should make that a priority. Maybe he'd look "eviller" with some tattoos as Domi suggests (I don't remember reading that anywhere, but I won't dispute the info).

If you do want this as a mod when you are finished I will help.

Portrait mods are easy enough to do even with my limited skills.

I could package it, or just show you how do to it. :)

It's been a while since I posted in SHS, sorry about that! My life right now is so FREAKIN busy -_-

I have added a (somewhat unfinished) Ajantis at the top post and took down the first Aerie portrait.

Thank you very much for the offer for packaging this thing, I'll make sure you keep your end of the bargain

I'll try to do a Minsc portrait, I've been shying away from it because its so much harder to do men's portraits (grumble)

It is correct, I can remember ;) Even a 3.5 PrC around being a red wizard of Thay with tattoos

Nice portraits ;)

Still modding the Mod for the Wicked... It is a big project you know... And I got sidetracked (several times) a bit... sorry.

(1st march 2009) SHS women over me:
Kat: if there were more guys that looked like you out here, people's offspring wouldnt be so damn ugly
Noctalys: you are adorable :P

Updated with the finished version of Ajantis, and a sketch of Yoshimo!

You know, I have no idea why people think Japanese have tilted slit eyes.... weird.
If anything, Japanese have really ROUND eyes compared with it's neighbors Korea and China.
And honestly I cant think of any Asian country with people with tilted eyes (people like Lucy Liu are rare and considered ugly in Asia)

Tatoos on Edwin....hmmmm.... .....I'll try adding some on, see what it looks like.

If I may say so, that Aerie is smokin'! :woot:

Had that been the in game portrait I'd be really tempted to actually carry her around in the party (if only there was a way to duct tape her mouth).

Personally, I wouldn't say no to a Viconia, but I do agree that Jaheira would also be sweet.

I think they're really good, especially Aerie. The only one I don't like so much is Ajantis, and the only reason for that is his helmet. Horned helmets really annoy me, and I have an unreasonable reaction to seeing them. But that's my problem, and he really like his face.

Back from the brink.

Like RPGs? Like Star Wars? Think combining the two would be fun? Read Darths and Droids, and discover the line "Jar Jar, you're a genius".

These, in the day when heaven was falling,
The hour when earth's foundations fled,
Followed their mercenary calling
And took their wages and are dead.

The portraits are very beautiful, and I can't wait to see the colored painting of Yoshimo! He looks awesome. Ajantis seems oddly scewed - try flipping the canvas horizontally to help you see the anatomical errors there. :)

I'm really looking forward to seeing Yoshimo colored as well. I love the tortured soul look you've given him, and I say that as a person who has never cared much for him.

You can thank WWII propaganda for that.

Yoshimo looks very nice, and I'd have to agree with Bluenose about the helmet. I do like that you've kept all the original clothing for each character, though, it makes them blend in more.

Please tell me work is continuing on these.

I have seen alot of alternative portrait packages.

Loved some, hated some, but these are probably my favorite.

(allthough I reserve the right to goth them for personal use :whistling: )

My offer to package still stands, or I could teach you, portrait mods are probably the easiest mods to make.

(with the exception of altering or building the portraits from scratch as in this case)

The occasional Spanish-Chinese mix in the Philippines, but even here they're rare. Everyone I've seen with Japanese/Chinese blood (myself included) has eyes that are closer in shape to almonds, really.

I like the portraits. I'm particularly fond of Aerie's, which is my current favorite so far. Edwin looks a little like a Mongolian to me, with rather feminine-looking cheekbones. Eagerly awaiting your take on Imoen and Nalia.
"What do you do when there is an evil that your justice cannot defeat? Do you continue as you are, and allow the evil to fester? Or do you embrace one evil to defeat an evil greater still?"

"I used to dislike the idea of an unfair universe. Then I got to thinking: what if we did deserve all the awful things that happened to us, and didn't deserve any of the good? Suddenly, I found myself taking comfort in the thought of an inherently hostile and unfair universe."

I'ts been forever! Sorry guys, finals in art school are just......well, let's just say other college kids are very lucky <_<

As a way of apology, I put extra care into Anomen!
Hope you guys like it, I spent HOURS on his stinkin armor
Slightly retouched Ajantis and Edwin also, and put up a new sketch for Branwen.
To the numerous people that I promised artwork, if you're reading this post I AM SO SORRY I am on them right now, will finish asap!

Awww, he's so cool! I think it's the 'wiser' Ano, he's got this look, as if he knows something. (And reminds me of Edwin in his best moments, too, a little).

*waves!* Good to see you again!
