Hello,

I just want to report that I've been running the game at 1024x768 using the widescreen mod and ghostdog's UI mod for many hours now with no issues. For whatever reason it seems to work fine with most 4:3 resolutions, but as soon as I try anything widescreen, I get the error from my original post. Thanks for chiming in, Philosopher, I was a bit worried the problem was isolated to me and my system in some way, and thanks to everyone for their help! It's been many, many years, but I'm enjoying Planescape: Torment all over again. It's fantastic to find such an active fan community with so many amazing mods available for this game I haven't been able to play in something like a decade.

Much appreciated,

-Chad

GOG have even been known to use cracks in some cases where the original game source code is no longer available, to some rather variable results (some of the game cracks out there are rather buggy, and some even contain greetings and messages and the like). Regardless, whether the CD protection is removed through unofficial (a crack) or official means, the difference is academic. The executable file is modified in both cases, and how this is done can either make or break mod compatibility.

I'm not sure if the 2CD version of the EXE will work with the GOG download, but if it does, it's the version I recommend using. It doesn't require the 1.11 patch, and the CD crack always works. You also need to apply the crack before installing the widescreen mod and PST:UI.

Same problem, same solution (using 1024x768) for me. I'm also running the GOG version, but with Vista Premium.

wanted to chime in that I have experienced the same error as the OP trying to run widescreen 1280x800 resolution. I'm also using Win7 64 bit and the GOG version of Torment. Switching to 1024x768 works fine so far.
