For a slightly customized "standard setup", I get this error message during the install :

Posted Image
Posted Image

The same happens when I try to use the beta version of BWP :

ERROR: [MTOWN2.CRE] -> [override] Patching Failed (COPY) (Failure("Conflict in priority list."))
ERROR: Failure("Conflict in priority list.")
Enemy items shatter (BGT Tweak Pack) was not installed due to errors.
You can try to repair the problem and start the installation of the component again. In this case please select "retry" after the repair.

If you don't want to spent time for that now, you can also continue without the component or exit the program. The BiG World Setup will continue with the installation of that component.
Enter [r]etry, [c]ontinue or [e]xit.

I have joined the debug files to my message, in case they could be useful.

What could I be doing wrong ?

changed the archive file name to BGSpawn_v1_10.rar
updated the size change

[Turambar_fixes_tweaks]

I also got that while installing.

Some more feedback/bug reports on my side, after using the latest BWP beta version.
The various debug/log files are avalaible upon request.

Please note that the installation otherwise finished, and the game seems pretty stable so far.
Therefore, I am not too worried about the first three (since I can deactivate them), but the last error I can't seem to avoid.

Tyris Flare NPC

Kiara-Zaiya

Prestige Kitpack

BGT Graphical User Interface

I had same bugs during my install and this is how I fixed it:

Tyris Flare NPC

I think it is no problem because install goes like it should be after that parse error.

Kiara-Zaiya

Those are missing files I also couldn't find anywhere. Maybe they are not used at all.

Prestige Kitpack

Solved it by using The Bigg suggestion (link). I installed first kits, then Basic component 0.

BGT Graphical User Interface

It is BGT error (link)
There is one "~" missing in tp2 file, on the line 8502, that breaks GUI install.

Hope it helps.

EDIT:

Just saw first post. It has already been talked about. Check this topic:
BGTTweak

Solution would be:
"edit BGTTweak\24\CREExcl.txt and add MTOWN2 to it." :-)

Thank you so much for your help,

I will apply what you suggest to my game, and report back.

I need to see that I am really impressed by what I've seen so far (just in the beginner's dungeon in BG2) :

  • the fight against Ilyich
  • the other enemies, responsive, working together, using their talents and potions as they should
  • the new content (npc's, especially that mad mage, a bit on the overpowered side, but with interesting twists in his story)

I do get some script lag from time to time, but that's okay. It seems to happen mostly at bottlenecks, like the exit of the dungeon for example :
Spoiler

If nothing else helped, I usually just reloaded and it worked again.

The best part is that I haven't explored it all yet, since I just installed the "standard" version.

Many, many thanks to all the kind people of the community here, working for our enjoyment

Last tip : Do not attempt to play the game in higher resolution (>800x600) without the wide screen mod, like I did, to get more reading "estate" on the screen. You get funky graphical artifacts on the launching screens, and also a CTD when you attempt to equip weapons on your (higher resolution) avatars.

Some more feedback, as I keep progressing through my game :

1/ Trolls in deArnise's keep

Most trolls (shadow ones, but also regular ones) in deArnise's Keep become unkillable after
Spoiler
I can't kill any of them :

- through regular fighting
- through "slowed down" fighting (so that the "fall down" script would kick in for the trolls)
- through cheating (with ctrl+Y)

2/ Unequipping companions when leaving party

When companions leave my party, they seem to transfer everything they have currently equipped to my inventory. Kivan gives me his "elven" spear, Branwen gives me her "Branwen only" mace, Minsc gives me Boo ><

I would prefer them to keep whatever is probably meant to *really* stay with them. Branwen shouldn't give me her unique mace, Boo definitely shouldn't leave Minsc.

Just wanted to say that despite all the "rough edges" I may report, I am still enjoying myself alot. I hope my feedback isn't perceived as useless "complaining", as I just want to report whatever I find so that it might be fixed for other players too, if needed.

Thank you :)

No, it is needed, but the problem is it's hard to pin down which mod(s) might be causing the problems unless you can do more hacking around to figure that out. And without knowing the suspect mods and reporting the bugs in their forums, it's unlikely they'll ever get fixed. So if you can find out (with the help of the IESDP, DLTCEP, Near Infinity etc.) exactly which areas and creatures have issues, you can start to do some weidu --change-logs on the filenames to see which mods affected them and go from there. Should be more instructions on all that in the pinned megamod FAQ.
