If you set it to at least 4, it should work. If you're setting it higher manually after you've finished the quest entirely, however, then the friendship path has already been activated and changing the 'adrianlikespc' variable won't help. Your best bet is probably to make sure that said variable is 4 or higher as soon as the quest starts rather than when it finishes.

Uhoh I've found a bug with one of Adrian's talks. I think it's a class specific one (playing a fighter dualled to cleric - the talk relates to faith). Doesn't seem to matter which answers I choose, the dialogue keeps looping and there's no way to get past this.

In party: CHARNAME, Adrian, Jaheira, Edwin, Imoen. (I only run a five person party through SoA to make room for Sarevok in ToB).

Current location is the Underdark - part way through Vithal's quest.

Romance Active is 2 and Talks is 49.

I have Shadowkeeper - any variables I can change to move this on?

[edit] Until that gets fixed with v1.2, be careful with clerics. Mage/clerics and mage/fighter/clerics are fine (and I assume what all my cleric testers actually work), but pure class or other multi-classes are going to run into that until the new version is uploaded.

Hello again! I've finished the SoA part today)

There was one small but repeating bug when Adrian attempted to leave the party soon after (Talsar Soargyl ambushed us in Trademeet. SPOILER) This happened several times more through the game. Telling him I did not mean to part ways once, sometimes twice in a row was enough to go on as usual.

I think that's the one and only Adrian-related problem I had in SoA (low adrianlikespc excluded), unless there was supposed to be more content but I missed it somehow. I really had some doubts about that, since Jaheira was surprisingly silent since before the romance became committed (when she warned me about his past) and until chapter 7.

When you say "there was a small bug when Adrian attempted to leave the party," do you mean his normal "You mean to part ways?" dialogue came up, or something else? This is a veeery odd issue, as I can't see any reason he'd possibly leave the party. In the Soargyl encounter you obviously defended Adrian, right? Have you ever asked him to leave the party?

Yes, that's the dialogue I mean, and I am pretty sure I said (or did) nothing to offend him. Of course I defended him. There is a possibility that I could have been rude at some point or another while exploring my options and where they lead, but I always load a saved game after such experiments, so no, I don't think so. But it looks more like the game thinks I've tried to reform the group and throw Adrian out. He's out for a moment, puts some of his things in my inventory, asks if I mean to part ways, I say no, his icon returns, his script unassigned, romance unharmed, everything's quiet for a couple of hours) Then it happens again. If no one else has this problem, then it's probably me and my installation, reinstallation etc.)

Have I ever asked him to leave? Hmm. Almost sure I've never tried that before this occured, and I've certainly never left him anywhere.

Okay... hmm. I am stumped, I'm afraid, I'm not sure what's going on there. It might just be something on your end, but... thanks for letting us know. If anyone has this issue again, please post it and the circumstances surrounding it!

Hello, I am having an issue with Adrian. I don't know why, but when I go to install him, I get an error message. I unrar the file int my BGII directory, and click 'setup-adrian, then I get this error: Error Unable to find DIALOG.TLK
I have redownloaded him twice, and still I get this error, is there something I'm doing incorrectly?

Is setup-adrian sitting there right in the BGII directory, or did it get decompressed into its own folder inside of the directory or something like that?

 

As far as I know, getting a DIALOG.TLK error does mean that the mod actually isn't in the right place, so you may need to manually make sure that winrar didn't put it somewhere else instead.

And a potential stuttering bug in talk 9:

- the script runs this talk as other normal talks, but the condition "Athkatla outdoors only" is present in *dialogue file*, which means that if you're not in the one of these areas(which is likely) and the talk triggers, Adrian will endlessly keep trying to talk to you and fail, since the check in the dialogue won't let him trigger this conversation. It's generally best to keep any extra conditions in the script file.

 

And I tip my hat to you for recognizing the need to introduce a !Gender("Edwin",Female) check - I only recently realized they're needed, myself.

I'll need to keep an eye on talk 9, but the area triggers there are actually just to determine which of two first lines plays (9a or 9b), since if you're in Athkatla, the dialogue starts out slightly differently. So it should still be closing properly. =)

First, and infinitely most important . . . Wonderful Mod, Adrian is just grand!

That being said, I may be in a bit of a jam . . . 

I am in chptr 2 finished with the Keep and started going back through the city gates and into the city when I hear some music cue up that I have never heard before (have played the game a zillion times over the last 5 years), so I figure it belongs to Adrian (yeah!), but no dialog comes up. Then I read in the forum that his quest doesn't cue unless you are outside the city, so, off to Umber Hills I go where I hear the music again no less than 3 times but still no dialog . . . ?!?! 

Any ideas??

Hmmm. The music shouldn't be popping up until after the quest finishes (and the quest actually takes place INSIDE of Athkatla, not outside, so either you read that backwards or I wrote it backwards), so I'm not sure what could be going on here.

 

First thing's first, can you go to the audio folder (right inside of the Adrian folder), and open up rh#adrom in iTunes or something? Just to make sure it actually is his music that's being played.

 

If it is, then could you use Shadowkeeper or the console to tell me what value the variable rh#AdrianTalks has?

Thank-you for answering so quickly. Truth be told, Adrian's quest involving Tanya fired not too long after I wrote my note above, so all is well. As to the music, well, I am not sure were it is from . . . probably some other mod I installed . . . else I am hearing things  :ermm: .

Minor bug report, I hope! I'm running the Isra mod along with Adrian and just ran into my first issue. When Adrian's signet ring LT fires, I end up with the Ghadir family ring perma-stuck in my PC's inventory instead. :S
