I would also like to report that there is this "new" mod available:

http://forums.gibber...e=2#entry225420

I guess as an alternative to level 1 npcs

Low hung brow, dazed look on your face..... It appears that you are correct, my friend. You are indeed a complete imbecile.

No, it just makes the XP distribution a little more mod-able... you need the Level 1 NPCs to modify the characters still.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.

--> got a really silly question. If I've got a new version of a mod, and inside the mod.txt I change just the name, will BWS automatically patch it like if it was the old version?

In my case, I've got spellrevision4.0
I don't remember the name of the old version , but let's imagine it is spellrevision3.0
If I change inside the mod.ini or w/e the name from spellrevision 3.0 to spellrevisions4.0, just to make the bws acknoledge the name, but I change nothing else...
will BWS install the fixes that are supposed to be installed for spellrevisions 3.0?

e.g ~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #20 // Mirror Image Fix: v3.1 (Hotfix 03)
~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #30 // Dispel Magic Fix: v3.1 (Hotfix 03)
~SPELL_REV/SETUP-SPELL_REV.TP2~ #0 #40 // Cure Sleep Fix: v3.1 (Hotfix 03)

--> From where do these fixes come from? From BWP Fixpack?

I would like to ask some features:

1) Instead of making the players with BG2 SoA + ToB NON-EE EDITION install the last stratagems (that is really bugged), I would ask to reintegrate back the version v21, that works perfectly.

http://forums.gibber...ds&showfile=914

Also, it has some components that the new SCS doesn't have.
By the way, I think one could download one of the old BWS version, and sub the text related to SCSII, so you wouldn't have to write all the stuff from scratch. Just use the section of the text from the old BWS related to SCSII v21.

2) I would suggest to integrate the new version of the questpack that you can find here:
http://forums.pocket...p?topic=29202.0

It makes no sense that people can add to BWS Simdingo's questpack v2.3 if it is bugged. The fact that the new  questpack is labelled BETA, doesn't mean that it isn't better compared to questpack v2.3.

Do you wish to see what was corrected? I urge you just to take a look to this changelog:

http://forums.pocket...ic,29116.0.html + http://forums.pocket...ic,29117.0.html

Please, upload the questpack. Direct link here:
https://dl.dropboxus...stpack-v3b5.zip

3) I saw that you are still waiting for an official version of the crossmod content before adding it to BWS.
It seems that careful testing still should be done for the new entries. I would say that according to me, you could already insert the new version, even if it is untested, because the only stuff that is supposed to not work are the new entries.

Seen and considered that Kulyok's additions works quite fine, as pointed by this post:

http://forums.gibber...483#entry225454

I would ask you to sub the old crossmod with the one I linked above, or, if you feel bold, with this one that has all the new content: https://github.com/c...Baldurs_Gate_II

4) The item randomiser downloaded by BWS is version 6.8. But that version, even if stable, is out of date. After talking with Wisp, where I pointed him a bug or two that I've found, he suggested me to use this version:

http://forums.gibber...showtopic=25430

Version 7, supposedly free of the bugs I've met. I suggest adding version 7.

5) I think the label *beta* from the mod keeping yoshimo, should be removed, as pointed here:
http://forums.gibber...550#entry225371

6) A new version of oversight was released.
http://forums.gibber...showtopic=26584

7) Npc strongholds was released: http://forums.gibber...585#entry225669

8) A new version of almateria's mod was released: http://www.shsforums...ration-project/

8) Alien, you should make it so that BWS never installs this component:
1PP "Fixed animations for Solars and Elementals".

It is bugged. It crashes. It doesn't work. No point on installing it!

http://forums.gibber...ic=26125&page=1

9) Consider the chance of checking this post:
http://forums.gibber...=24727&p=204596

I think that instlaling both "cosmetic parts" from 1pp and Item revisions could be overkill. I don't know, maybe I would let the user choose between one or the other.

Well, there's a separate install tree for the BG1EE. and one for BG2EE, but they are not the same as the BWS's main tree that includes BGT and the rest of the megamods that's build around the BiG World Project.

There's also one for Icewind Dale (1) and one for IwD2, and yet another for Classic Adventures as well as one for Planescape:Torment.

So in total there's 8 trees actually.

@ The Imp

It's not just Refinements... there's a similar "action" in the BWPFixpack .bat files(or did at least at one point), BG2Fixpack, Level1NPCs, RR, BP, Refinements etc.

A lot of mods add, change or delete entries in the KIT.IDS during the installation procedure. The Installpack tries to fix that. At the very end of the installation the KIT.IDS looks like this:

@ The Imp

The Installpack tries to fix that. At the very end of the installation the KIT.IDS looks like this:
Note: barbarian and wildmage appear only once

It tries, yes, it fails in a few cases, it succeeds if the entire thing is installed yeah, but mostly it's not. (at least this was with the old version from ages past !!!! )

By the way, could you --change-log that kit.ids file ?

Besides, the point of the whole thing is, it's supposed to be an identity table, so anything compiled while it's being made needs to still be true when the whole thing is complete. This is where the REPLACE_TEXTUALLY is not really fitting. Unless you uncompilable all the .bcs files... that's going to take forever, every time the table is being remade.

I doubt it. We need to wait another bit. We need to wait for the new BWP to come out.

@Leonardo. Thanks for explaining how the kit table stuff works.
@Alien. If you check my previous post, I'm piling up stuff, so you don't have to look around for links and all different things ;)

So I've just started playing anew and... a wild German-speaking merchant appears!

Not that I have anything against the language (let alone the people), but it seemed kinda odd and un-fitting to me. Sadly, I have lost my WeiDU.log file, but here is a screenshot of where this peculiarity happened:

1EtXnwm.jpg

So essentially I am just north of Beregost, searching for the lost caravans (I believe it's Kagain's quest), and he approaches me and starts speaking in German. And so does my character. So I'm assuming it's due to some mod which is German only - does anyone have any idea which mod it is?

Thanks in advance!

That Merchant is from german mod Jarl's Adventure Pack but it has english translation in Big World Textpack here. Have you installed it ?

uhh... I have installed the BiG World Textpack, through the BWS application. So I suppose it's installed...

On top of that, no language except English is selected in my BWS.

Then it's probably a install problem (maybe???) with BWS. I don't know because i don't use BWS (i use modified Leonardos bat-file).

Hopely Quiet or some other BWS expert helps you.

Sorry that i couldn't help. Good luck.

No sorries, at least you named the mod for me - that's a lot of help! If all else fails, I'll just remove it from the installation.

This is because previously Fixpack makes corrections to the file ja#merc3.d, and then Texpack can't patch this file. As a result dialogue of this merchant remain in German. Maybe same happens with other dialogue-files of this mod, I don't know. In any case, I am powerless to do anything here. Needs to ask Leonardo that he has made adjustments to the Textpack.

Yes That's it. I just sent an email to Leonardo.

ja#merc3.d

BWP Fixpack 14.2:

 IF ~~ THEN BEGIN 4
SAY ~Ich habe kein Geld, das ich Euch geben könnte. Es... tut mir Leid, aber ich muss gehen.~
-  IF ~~ THEN DO ~ReputationInc(1)AddExperienceParty(150)EscapeArea()~ EXIT
+  IF ~~ THEN DO ~ReputationInc(-1)AddExperienceParty(150)EscapeArea()~ EXIT
 END

 IF ~~ THEN BEGIN 5

English Textpack ja#merc3.d.patch still looks for the unmodified entry, failing to patch it.

For now, you could simply manually edit the patch inside English Textpack.
