I am always open to suggestions, even though I am reluctant to change everything because some player has a different taste.

It is the same with *the mod is overpowered vs everything is too weak* - I hear both extremes evenly distributed.

Nevermind then, your previous statement made it sound like you used the portraits you did because you were lacking other options. If you are happy with your portraits that's fine by me. :)

Glad you've got thick skin, Roxanne :)

Ulb, those are some nice looking portraits!

It may be related to the fact that i didn't install Breagar ?

Those were warnings, right? If not stopping installation, they can just be ignored.

Hey, I'm experiencing some pretty extreme inventory lag while Sandrah is in my party (takes like 2 seconds from clicking on an item until it gets actually picked up.)

I can only assume this is caused by her script since without her everything is as fast and smooth as ever.

I have seen this delay in EET as well but not accosted it to Sandrah (which part of her script, I wonder?) - did you test it without her?

PS itt happens when you have the inventory screen open and are moving things there? Which GUI are you using?

I did some further investigation and I am pretty confident that it has nothing to do with Sandrah (no part of her script is triggered by any actions with moving/picking up items in the inventory.)

My guess is that it has to do with the new EE checks regarding useability of items - I do not see it with e.g. generic plot items that have no restrictions - only with items that can only be used by some party members,

E:G when you select a sword, there is a short delay and then the portraits of all party members who can use a sword are highlighted and those who cannot are greyed out. May it be that those checks take a second or so?

PS I was using the EET's own SoD GUI for my checking.

I'm using the standard BG2EE/EET UI that comes with EET by default.

In my case the lag (and its not just a tiny delay) is definitely caused by Sandrah's script (CVSANDRA.BCS) either directly or because of some kind of incompatibility with something else. Before she joins me I have ZERO inventory lag and if I kick her from my party or remove her script the lag is gone as well.

Hm - is there any specific item you picked up when it started? Or maybe you could post a savegame with the issue. I have no clue at this time.

Do you have any mod installed that changes item useability in general? Does any of her personal items appear as not useable by her?

And just to clarify, we talk about a lag/delay not stuttering?

I didn't do anything specific and it seemed to happen with all items (tested a few). I deleted the save games and moved to my none mega mod install but I can create a new save game with Sandrah later or tomorrow if you think that will help.

I would think so, pretty sure item revisions does that and probably  few tweak mods as well. I've uploaded my BWS ini file at the EET forums if you want to take a closer look.

Her items seemed to be fine though.

Lag/delay.

As I said; I click on an item (any inventory slot/quick slot) and it takes more than a second before the item gets actually picked up and is on my cursor.

As far as I could tell it only affects the inventory screen, everything else seemed to run just fine.

Thanks for the additional info - even if it makes evrything even more mysterious. There is nothing in CVSANDRA.BCS that ever triggers from the inventory screen. I have made a little tool that records everything that is triggered in that script when you operate the inventory (just in case my memory would fail) but there is nothing.

It would be interesting to run this with your installation but I understand it is too late by now (you deleted it?).

I may have found something, but it requires further testing to confirm.

In your next game you may want to keep an eye on the issue happening with any other NPC who has personal items equipped (opcode 319), e.g. Neera and her personal staff (Stafn1).

Probably you just saw it on Sandrah as she was the first NPC you met with such items? (Corwin, Neera. Mkkhin, Choinneach from DSotSC)

No, the installation is still there, just the saves are gone since I use the same save/ini folder for both installs.

Entirely possible as I did not play any more with that install so far.

So, I just made a new game and noticed something very odd.

I still get that inventory lag on any item I want to move (potions, a bow, Sandrah's personal items, anything) EXCEPT for Sandrah's History of Ferun. That item causes no lag whatsoever and can freely be moved. Very odd...

If you like, you may try this

Attached File  Sandrah_Checkscript.zip   869.38K   155 downloads

If you know LS-tool or stutterbug, you know how it works - otherwise.

Just install it on top of your game. Start the game (you will see some reports *Running block xxxx of CVSandra.bcs...) Just give it a few turns before you move on. If you then do those inventory actions you can check if any special script blocks are called by this.

If you notice some blocks that seem suspicious (e.g run every time you do the action) take a note of the block numbers.

You can either look for offending blocks with NI yourself or just post the modified bcs + candidate blocks here.

When finished, just uninstall the tool again. It will leave no traces.

I can't see any suspicious script blocks but the issue is definitely Sandrah's script.

I strongly suspect that either script blocks that are executed while the inventory screen is open are not displayed or, more likely, the issue is caused by blocks that don't return true. Maybe just a loop or a whole bunch of checks al at once. Those blocks would not be displayed by that mod, right?

In any case, as before; if I remove her override script the lag is completely gone, with script active everything but her book lags as hell.
