I love BG2, but I mainly love BGII because of the modders. If I were going to list the games I found great it would be Doom 1 & 2, Fallout 1 & 2, Planescape:Torment, and the BG series.
The only one I love on a philosophical level is Torment. The question, "What can change the nature of Man," is a deep question. It was a deep game. Honestly, if someone was going to make a sequel, I would wish that they make a sequel to Planescape:Torment.
The first encounter, in Doom, with the Cyberdemon was...memorable, and a "huh" moment.
The Fallout 2 encounters with the slaver, fluffing and Francis the Mutant, among others, is very amusing.
The banters, and romances, and group interactions in the BG series are great but the most moving game I ever played was Torment.
Torment is meditative, it made me think, it is a deep game. The theme of Redemption is fantastic, and the minor detail that Morte and Anomen are the same actor is fun. A very layered game. A gaming moment for me.

IWD2 is the near perefect dungeon crawl game. PST is the perfect deep RP, almost quest-like RPG. BG2 is a perfect balance of the 2. In the end, BG2 has more replay value (and more so with mods and such), but PST leaves a deeper impression...

Neither. I'd sooner play Diablo...
Comparing Diablo with BG2 and Planescape Torment is blasphemy !
I prefer BG2 : has a more replay value, you have more options to build your character, higher levels and better tactical options, more realistic...

its really about as realistic as super mario borthers
Ive read many a book on the history of europe and the far east and let me tell you one thing ,BG2 is comparable in realism to dantes inferno
°_° i mean seriously realistic
in the real world Paladins were holly defenders(read religious bully boys who enforced the faith with a blade, and would sooner slit your throat than convert you)
druids didnt have mystical powers they were simple worshipers of nature
The next time i see a priest in plate male with a mace ill tell him to say hi
Monks well some monks do martial arts
*me wonders off to cast summon lvl 1 as he fancys badger meat for tea*
sorry thats a bit cruel hehe
but its in no way shape or form realistic
and i agree though comparing them is blasphemy
PST is clearly made of alot less cheese

By the way, I really think the mass of BG2 lovers did not see this topic, because there was another one (a comparison between BG, IWD, PST and NWN) and BG2 had around 60% of votes.
