Yep, Belgarion it is then.

Volo isn't really that powerful he is like 11th level at most, just he travels and tells secrets a lot and elminster spends time with wordplay between eachother.

famous or infamous

Quite clear why he is on the list, is it not? And the list isn't about power at all; powerful wizards just seem to be the ones that are indeed famous. Irenicus and Ellesime are a bit of a border case or in Jon's case borderly psychotic. They are on the list anyway: someone would have pointed them out at some point.

If we're going to include people from other series, I'll throw in Pug/Milamber. ;)

Coin, the sourcerer from Terry Prachett's Sourcery, should definitely be near the top of any list of ultra-powerful wizards :).

Hehee, Terry's books are a bit over the edge, but Coin gets on the list.

Azalin, Strahd from Ravenloft.
Sadira the Sun Wizard, Rajaat the First Sorcerer from Athas.
The Sorcerer-Kings:

Balic: Andropinis of Balic is, in fact, a 21st-level
dragon. He retains enough of his original human
form, however, that he can be seen in public without
drawing suspicion. Those who have suspected his
true nature have been executed.
Draj: The more pompous Tectuktitlay of Draj is
actually a 22nd-level dragon, having used his own
blood-soaked arena to further his metamorphosis.
Tectuktitlay's form is markedly inhuman he retains
human appearance through a vigilant psionic
illusion.
Gulg: The oba is a 21st-level dragon, though still
virtually human in appearance. With her attentions
fixed on her city's ancient enemy Nibenay, Lalali-
Puy has not metamorphosed further.
Nibenay: The Shadow King secludes himself for
a reason he is a 23rd-level dragon. In his rare appearances
he masks his form with illusion, then
steals away to continue his transformation. Nibenay
's senior templars know of their master's true
form.
Raam: Abalach-Re, herself a 21st-level dragon,
is confused by her situation. The nature of her
powers has lead the Great Vizier to a mistaken conclusion
about their source, thus her invention of
the fictitious higher being whom she compels
Skeptical citizens to worship.
Urik: Hamanu is a 21st-level dragon who sees
himself as the ultimate ruler of the Tyr region. By
force of arms, he may succeed, but not without further
power gained through metamorphosis.

"A handsome young Cyborg named Ace,
Wooed women at every base,
But once ladies glanced at
His special enhancement
They vanished with nary a trace."

Fighter: Drizzt has been turned into a demi-Power almost, so Aragorn

That's a quotation from one of Stone Wolf's statements. Can anyone clarify this ? How could have Drizzt become a demipower ????

I was just commenting on how he seems to get more "uber" every novel--at least as far as I read before giving up on the series. I think it was him becoming the ultimate "hunter", then the ultimate "warrior", and then whatever ideal version of something he is now.

Indeed. I almot put the novel down when I read that he and his friends take on Errtu, who is assisted by a Marilith general(!), a Glabrezu(!) and dozens of lesser Tanar'ri... now, that one was truly ridiculous.
