Another new studio? Oh, bah. We all know Edmonton is the only one that counts. :P

I just hope we get an actual RPG.

Even if the consequent casting was speed zero, it would still be a casting - potentially interrupting actions currently being performed, as well as resetting aura cleansing.

There's another serious issue with displaying the Spell Immunity selection menu at Contingency firing time. Even if such a thing were possible to implement without resetting the aura or interrupting actions, the player would be forced to have the affected character currently selected when the Contingency fires, otherwise access to the SI selection menu?and, thus, the entire spell?is effectively lost.

How about a tweak for swapping Cleric/Thieves' Turn Undead and Thieving menu buttons?

Hm. Upon further deliberation, I'm unsure as to whether this would actually be possible, from an operational standpoint. Turn Undead is a modal action, so situating it beneath Special Abilities may inhibit the toggle functionality.

How about a tweak for swapping Cleric/Thieves' Turn Undead and Thieving menu buttons? Turn Undead is relatively seldom-used, but as it stands now, if ever you want to pick a lock or disarm a trap, you've got to click the Special Abilities button. Every... single... time. 'Tis most disturbing.

In Topic: [FIXED] Crash with 'Log Dialogue Bar' activated

01 January 2011 - 04:50 AM

Can reproduce. The game crashes immediately before the dialogue window appears when using Scribe Scrolls. Occurs only with 'Log Dialogue Bar=1'.

Can you describe what scribe scroll is and what happens in the game when you scribe a scroll?

Basically, the component grants mages of 9th level or higher an innate ability, 'Scribe Scrolls', which can be used at will. The ability summons an invisible creature, who is scripted to order the caster to initiate dialogue with him- or herself. The dialogue, itself, allows the player to spend gold, depending on spell level, to scribe one of the caster's memorised spells onto a scroll (i.e., removing the spell from memory and creating the corresponding scroll in the caster's inventory).

Also, what normally shows up in the dialogue bar when you scribe?

This is an example of what should show up...

PAUSED
Shei- Scribe Scrolls : Shei
Shei- Auto-Paused: Spell Cast
UNPAUSED

Shei- (This ability allows an experienced spellcaster to scribe a spell from her spellbook onto a scroll. Only a spell that is currently memorized may be scribed in this manner. Furthermore, the cost of any raw materials that are used in the process must be covered in full. Finally, inscribing a scroll removes one instance of the spell in question from the caster's memory.)

Shei- (Select a spell level:)

Shei- 1st level spells (50gp)

Shei- (Choose which spell to scribe onto a scroll:)

Shei- Blindness

The Party Has Lost Gold: 50
The Party Has Gained An Item

With dialogue logging enabled, the game gets as far as...

[003C08D6] PAUSED
[003C08D6] Shei- Scribe Scrolls : Shei
[003C08D6] Shei- Auto-Paused: Spell Cast
[003C08D6] UNPAUSED
[003C08D7]
[003C08D7]
[003C08D7]

The game crashes before the dialogue window actually appears. Nothing is reported on the nature of the crash. Here's the TobEx.log.
