Please, use this thread to post opinions about the project...
...of course I'm fishing for some opinions :P I know this mod is slightly different to TotDG, but I still think that some people may like it... I gues :P However, I know it may be too soon for any opinions, but well - at least there's already a place for those... they will appear... one day :P

I'm looking foreward to try Innershade, but in the meantime I have one question. Do you intend to create a package with the two colour mods (and future colour mods)?

Cheers

Well, I think it's pointless to force someone who likes TotDG, but dislikes Innershade, to download both mods. This way is easier and may save some people's time :)
I hope you will enjoy the mod.

It's up yo you, but I can't really imagine anyone disliking Innershade (they could even press "N" in the installer).

Innershade is different to Innershade. In the beginning I wasn't sure if this mod shouldn't be placed among expansion mods. It expands the world of BG2. Quest is only one part... there are also a small friendship, new shops, items and the quest itself isn't a condition of checking the other stuff.

I hope that you will tell me if the mod is fine when you end it :)

Cheers!

Hello Lava Del'Vorte, Happy Chinese New Year, even better if you're a rabbit!

I managed to get to Innershade with the console (http://www.shsforums...ind-innershade/) and here is what I think about the mod...

First, there are many English mistakes in the dialogues with Yoshimo when meeting the kid that tells stories. It's a pity, because a story is nice because of the language, and mistakes give the feeling it has been quickly done with no real caring.

It has a lot the same feel as Tales of the Deep Gardens (nostalgia, sadness, peace and poetry), but with less "punch", as the characters are not as much developped, you meet them, have a chat, then it's more or less over. It would have been nice that there is more to it. Example: the women that makes the axes: the wood cutter and the miner speak a lot about her and her mood, so it gives the feeling there will be something to do in relation with her, or that she has something interesting to say, but when you get there, you just buy the axe and it's done! Nothing more to it! To be frank, it makes her look boring. I would have done something with her if I were you, or just not speak so much about her before...

Mainly that's it, it's ok to play Innershade on the way, but it's not a place you feel like coming back to, because characters have nothing special (apart from Granny, of course!), the goods are cheap so can be bought all at once. The main quest lacks something also, too short and simple, too straight-forward... even though I haven't used the ability to dream yet, so it may be better than what it seems :-) . Creating such a well-designed mod, and having such a short life-span, according to me it's a pity...

Still, nice graphs, nice mood (maybe a bit too sad though), interesting ideas. I recommend players to better do this quest before Tales of the Deep Gardens, which is for me much better!

Thanks a lot, Lava Del'Vorte, for the mod, it is still much better than so many other ones I've seen, all so buggy and badly designed. Your mods look so professional :-) .

Take care,

Doudou.

Hmm, didn't know that :) Will ask someone to take a look on those lines :) Thanks.

Are you sure? ;) Complete the quest of an axe - it's a trigger to another quest. I don't remember who starts it - or woodchopper or Eva herself. You may ask about the relations with eachother. I believe that was Eva who can be asked... However, exit her house and come back to her - you can lie to her about something. However, I won't spoil more details now.

The main quest lacks something also, too short and simple, too straight-forward... even though I haven't used the ability to dream yet, so it may be better than what it seems :-)

So check it out. One of the last replies is asking Dream of his past. It may seem as it was only an ordinary response, but it's a bit different. It will disappear and you can't use it again. It timered, so after an hour you can ask him to continue the story. Check the option from time to time. Actually I would call that the rest of the main quest, which ends in ToB. Do make a good decision in ToB part, remember to discuss with Dream.

Mainly that's it, it's ok to play Innershade on the way, but it's not a place you feel like coming back to, because characters have nothing special (apart from Granny, of course!)

Granny was designed is such a way. She's a nice lady and her talks will steal some of your time ;) Also, if you finish friendship with her (you'll know when that happen) there will be a kind of new option in Spellhold. You can also visit Innershade when you're back from Underdark, because you can find there an elf who may give you a helpful item.
The other thing is... do you return to Nalia's keep when you complete the quest? I think it's normal that it ends like that...

Still, nice graphs, nice mood (maybe a bit too sad though), interesting ideas.

Heh, it may appear to be even sadder than you think... just play a bit more, talk with granny and finish ToB part... You know, I love sad endings. Call me Mr. Depression.

Thanks a lot, Lava Del'Vorte, for the mod, it is still much better than so many other ones I've seen, all so buggy and badly designed. Your mods look so professional :-) .

Funny comment to end with :P Well, I know it may be less interesting than TotDG, but the thing is that some people preffer mods which are less... strange than Gardens.

Thank you for you comments. I'll try to do something with Yoshimo's dialogue :) If you end the mod including Dreaming and ToB part, drop in - maybe you'll like to add something. It doesn't have to be something really good. Sometimes I wonder if there's someone who have seen ToB part :P

Oh, and thank you for Chinese New Year wish ;)

EDIT:
Oh, and about Eva and Strongheart - you may also ask the storyteller child about the villagers. That can let you know what is the reason of the relationship.

Lol, sorry if my impression looked quite negative, I still liked it, but it just suffered to be compared to the Gardens, in my mind

I just can't believe how you can make so well designed mods, while every other one I tried has terrible sound recordings, copied maps from the main game, plus all the bugs.

I just found the "quest" opened by Eva after the axe one was completed, sorry for not noticing it before   :whistling:

I also had the ending happen recently in ToB, the Dreamer part, not bad at all... What an cool ugly creature!  ;)

For the dialogues with Dream, yes, I realised they were timed, and had many chats with "him", even though most questions were always available, and in ToB, I didn't realise I had some choice to do, things just happened, and now that things have... let's say, "evolved" with the witch, I still have the Dream ability...

I don't know if I'll ever see the end of the Granny friendship, as I nearly have finished the game...

So now you know, at least one person has seen the ToB part of Innershade mod   :woot:  Haha!

Take care, and good luck with your studies!

Eden.

Thanks :) And hey - it's ok if you didn't like something or liked TotDG more! You can have your own opinion about something! :) However, it's nice to hear that you enjoyed it.

The Granny friendship has continuation in SoA.

Gosh, what a revelation! I never got to the part where she... left... Found Innershade too late in the game, because not on my map... Next time I replay, I'll try it again.

Ttfn,

Doudou.

This is a detailed, beautiful, and very enjoyable addition to the game! I like the fact that there's plenty of dialogue, different kinds of characters...and a deep, dark secret to discover :) I suspect that there's still more to it than I've experienced so far (I think I completed the available quests and minor plots, but I'm not sure). The are map is visually stunning, and I can't help but keep coming back to visit some of the NPCs.

Bravo! Much thanks for this entertaining mod!

Thank you!
If you decided not to kill Dream, then yes - there is small ToB part to experience :) Remember to talk with him from time to time. Ask him about his story :)
After underdark you may also ask there for help one new guy. He will give you new item :)

I hope you enjoyed tea with granny!
