Hi everyone ! I'm new, French, tired, a little bit lost in this huge forum, but worst of all, I'm really bad in writting English ! So I'm sorry for all the mistakes I'm going to make in my writtings.

1. What do you need? Item, animation, description...?

Just a BAM for a description of a shield.

2. Describe the item/whatever in detail! Shape, style, colors...?

I've already make inventory icons (but they are not finished, I've still a problem because it's hard to put the item on the character... I don't know how to discribe it ! So hard :( I think it's because of the size or the position of the image in the BAM).

And here is the original image :

3. Does it have bonus factors?
-
4. What about elemental damage? (Acid, Fire, Ice...)
-
5. What material is the item made of?
-
6. Any deadlines?

No, it's just for me. (I just try to make items for a mod, if I achieve, then I'll try to make the mod)

7. What game is this for?

BGII - SoA/ToB.

8. Anything else you'd like to mention?

Yes, I'm wondering if there is a tuto for making description images? I would like to make my owns !

Maybe it's because the .BAM is misaligned. I can have a look if you want.

Sir-Kill has a nice tutorial about it here.

PS Your english seems fine to me. :)

Thanks for the BAM, but in fact I'm seeking something more like Baldur's gate description BAM. But it's very nice to help a noob like me =D !

I've read the tutorial, and I'll try it soon.
Where do you find it? I looked for a tuto like this for ages and find no one ! (I even forget the idea of finding it french...) Actually, mostly of good tutorial are in english or translated from english. It's really hard to understand them sometimes, especially when they are about coding :( ! Though I'm not bad in understanding english (or at least, in school).

And your help for my Bams are welcome =), I've the same problem with the other Bam I've made...

It's such a pain being a beginner ! :)

No problem, I understand. I figured you'd want a description BAM that kept the decorations on the shield. I haven't been able to reproduce the 'pencil' style of the game's bam with accuracy or consistency. I did try to do a couple with some sort of similar 'distortion' so to speak before:

You're welcome to either of it if you happen like one (though they're too big for the game screen right now, they'd have to be retooled a bit).

The first time I think I saw the link in some obscure post, probably at Blackwyrm Lair, but I wouldn't be able to say exactly. Plus I don't log in to that site anymore.

It's such a pain being a beginner ! :)

Keep at it, you'll get better with practice.

Regarding the BAMs, I had no trouble getting them to appear in game. I fiddled with their alignment a bit, see if you like them.

I'll try to draw the shield (more or less) and post it here, may be it will be easier to have a BG look this way...
I'm not sure it will be a great drawing, I didn't draw for so long !

The BAMs are OK now, thank you !
Do they look fine? I'm afraid it's not a great job... (Is my sentence understandable?)

Edit :

I did it !

If you are having trouble getting the alignment right, I strongly recommend using Miloch's BAM Batcher. It can set inventory BAM, spell BAM, and description BAM offsets for you! This way is much nicer than using trial-and-error to get them aligned just right :) .

"Ok, I've just about had my FILL of riddle asking, quest assigning, insult throwing, pun hurling, hostage taking, iron mongering, smart-arsed fools, freaks, and felons that continually test my will, mettle, strength, intelligence, and most of all, patience! If you've got a straight answer ANYWHERE in that bent little head of yours, I want to hear it pretty damn quick or I'm going to take a large blunt object roughly the size of Elminster AND his hat, and stuff it lengthwise into a crevice of your being so seldom seen that even the denizens of the nine hells themselves wouldn't touch it with a twenty-foot rusty halberd! Have I MADE myself perfectly CLEAR?!"

Did 2 versions, one regular and another with the border "hollow", as some items have:

Take your pick.
