The question is in the title.

I have show the MSPIG*.bam in the BG2 database (with Near infinity), they are the animation bam for the BG1 spider. But how to use thems in bg2 ?

All my mods are on Github

Generally you would...

I have show the MSPIG*.bam in the BG2 database (with Near infinity), they are the animation bam for the BG1 spider. But how to use thems in bg2 ?

Open the character file with DLTCEP, you'll see the first window, it it there is a definition of "Creature Animation" set it to 0x7ayy, where the yy is last part, normally 01, 02, 03 or 04... You can see this from the your Anisnd.2da, if you open that with your NearInfinity for example. But...

Or you can do the same using WeiDU.exe and a setup-*modname*.tp2 -action that first copies the creature file, and then sets the value...

... but, as the animations are not apparently in the set, it cannot be used. And the Infinity Animation doesn't have it either, so it cannot be used.
You would need to request it from the Infinity Animation mods makers...

Thanks again, Jarno.

I know how to change animation of a creature. I have used spider_huge, spider_giant, spider_phase, spider_sword, spider_wraith and spider_small (0x7f2f). but the red spider seems not be here. (and there isn't associated 2da with MSPIG)

The base spider was never used (all the variants have the palette replaced with an external palette, stored in MSPI* BMPs), not even in BG1.

You may be able to move the BAMs to a different slot and rename them (say the tasloi one, MTAS, since they didn't make it into BG2) to use the base BAM without having the palette replaced (I'm not sure there's any slot set to use the base MSPIG). You could also try to export the palette (or recreate it) and overwrite one of the other palette BMPs, but I'm not sure any of the tools do this.

The "myrlochar" (drow soul spider) uses the base animation with a slight (brownish) recolour (available in Infinity Animations and Aurora). So it would be even easier to use the base animation without recolouring - just assign it to a new slot.

Thanks for this advise, Miloch.
So i leave the idea. Slots are limited and precious, so use one of them for a new "spider" is a for me a bad idea, as the game include Five of thems at all.

I prefer looking for very "new ones" and i hope finding one day a giant ant or scorpion ^^

If you were willing to give converting animations a try yourself, Lionheart has a "Desert Beast" and a "Desert Beast Tough" which are scorpion-like. There is also a wasp animation that you could convert :) . See the image in the first post here.

If you've got a straight answer ANYWHERE in that bent little head of yours, I want to hear it pretty damn quick or I'm going to take a large blunt object roughly the size of Elminster AND his hat, and stuff it lengthwise into a crevice of your being so seldom seen that even the denizens of the nine hells themselves wouldn't touch it with a twenty-foot rusty halberd! Have I MADE myself perfectly CLEAR?!"

NWN animations will work; you'd just need to port them as described here.
