Posted by udoh on 08 February 2005 - 02:25 AM in Nordock-CEP-PRC, Plagued Version

Oh boy. I can't wait. I ran a local server for my family last year running a modified version of Nordock.

I have just came back to NWN (can't find anything as good as NWN or BG2) and I found your MOD.

I will be watching your thread... waiting for new release....

THANKS

#187069 Welcome Aboard!

All the latest:

NWNv165, CEPv150, and PRCv2.2b. All 3 games as well.

Just got some really bad news on this yesterday--I'm in the process of removing >100 areas, many of which were given to me to use; unbeknownst to me, unauthorized. I'm hoping the module will live through the disassembly. Naturally, this has set back my timetable; I was about to release this mod yesterday. More information on progress as I have it--I've started the removal process.

Thanks, and damn that sucks :( I thought that all the module areas and stuff was all "open source" kinda, and why would someone not give you permission to include their modules if you gave them credit for the work?

Hi Horrid, Sorry to hear things didn't work.

I was really looking forward to your updated MOD.

I think i will go and check out your BG2 mods instead. I must say, I am a bit suprised about people's attitude towards the areas.

Anyways, Good luck with your BG2 Mods :)

[Actually , regardless of what others may have said, the areas in question were known to have been given to horred and at the time they were given noone had a problem with them being used by him, they recently decided to be arses about this, and as such a big apology goes out to horred  as he had nothing to do with it, he took them in good faith so for those nay sayers out there, get offa horreds back, you know who you are, and if you have a serious problem with the areas he was using , you should have spoken up sooner as i DID tell you i let him have the module, and at the time you had no issues with him using them, IE just because we have parted ways DONT take it out on Horred! EDIT: also technicly the areas in question had to be redone by me as they lacked encounters ,placeables , scripts, area transitions etc so the only work i didnt do was building the areas. so if someone wants to get really technical bout it the areas are just as much mine as anyone elses because of the work i had to put into them to make them playable.

View Post

Ok. From what I can understand here, Horred had every right to use the areas in question. As he had taken them in good faith, he was given all rights to use them for whatever purpose he saw fit. More than half of the contents of the areas in question were added and modified by Leutian. Due to the fact that he technically owns more than 50% of the actual product, it is rightfully his, nomatter what you say. If you want, I can even draw up the legal technicalities to go along with this. Yes, there are rules that apply to everyday usage of the internet, materials provided through such, and any programs available for such, including additional modifications (Add-Ons [Mods]). Though you may have an issue with Horred using the areas in question, Leutian owns all rights to them and in such, he gave permission to Horred to use and abuse. You have no jurisdiction in this situation nomatter your defense. I have proven my point about 4-5 times in this little copyright acknowledgement. All material is copyrighted and provided by Leutian at no cost to Horred. He gave permission, and permission was used. Back up off of his back before you make even more of an ass of yourself.

-Thanks Kiddies.

Well, I think my last statement still stands with "Damn that sucks". "Horred", do what you feel is right the "community" will support your choice, keep up the good work :)

I wish there was something I could do, i've dabbled in the scripting, and area's but not really enough to produce something. I can test things, and report errors (not that there will be any.. :) )

Cheers

I am very comp challenged so this is probably a simple fix for you comp GURU'S

1. I  can log into the character creation area, however i keep getting booted at the character race part.

2. if i try to use the mini mod to create the data tables i am immediately booted i can only log in on the full mod... which boots me on race creation.

3. i understand where the files CEP Portrait.....DB Builder.mod go but where do i put the PRC2.2c,Docs 1-5...?

any help greatly appreciated

I think youve done a FANTASTIC job Horrid :thumb:

#193116 Version 7: Problems

Posted by udoh on 16 March 2005 - 12:11 AM in Nordock-CEP-PRC, Plagued Version

Yeah, i tested for an hour, then skipped out and played on my buddy's server (The Forbidden1, Alavar Campaign). It's where I go to get away from this monstrosity. ;)

View Post

good plan, get away sometimes.. hehehehe....

I'm sure there's something funny going on with the drops, i've tried resetting the server, multiple times and the drops are still virtually none.

Will you be uploading v8 to the vault today?

udoh :)

ps. I did install that erf for version 7 with all those scripts in it, could that have changed anything?

#192871 Version 7: Problems

Posted by udoh on 13 March 2005 - 02:07 PM in Nordock-CEP-PRC, Plagued Version

1. Ahhh. Can you point me in the direction of the scripts you used to "recapture" the FF system. I wouldn't mind a look there. :)

Well... bedtime for me :)

#192936 Version 7: Problems

Posted by udoh on 15 March 2005 - 12:52 AM in Nordock-CEP-PRC, Plagued Version

I've seen even more issues with version 7. Taking out Fast French was the cause of most of it. I'm currently working on version 8, which will use some of the FF scripts, just not the dll's or executions. Hopefully I can get a balance between the two, which will provide the best of both worlds. As soon as I do, expect a release.

Sorry for any hassles, but that's the breaks as I know 'em. SNAFU.....

View Post

Not a problem, it's fun testing your MOD :)

A balance between the 2 would be great.

1. I notice lag occurs when trying to display a recipe, and if 2 people are doing this at the same time, then.. .it's slow.. hehehe... is there any way to "cache" the recipes something like that?

2. It seems like the longer the server is runnig the laggier it gets, is this something to do with the "persistance" , in that unpicked corpses still stay and spawns not killed also stay?

3. Have you recently changed the drops, because it seems since v6 (running v7.1 at the moment) there are very few items or gold in the drops.

Well, yesterday, we had a really good play, getting the hang of the crafting system we are, which is excellent. Having a really great time.

udoh :)

ps. Can you place an enchanting alter in Benzor Workshop top floor. Please :)

#192840 Version 7: Problems

Posted by udoh on 13 March 2005 - 08:33 AM in Nordock-CEP-PRC, Plagued Version

Hi Horred,

Great work with the Park in v7, and also the addition of the player houses.

I have a couple of problems.

1. When I log back in again after playing, my character doesn't log in at the same position i logged out, sometimes It can even be another room entirely.

2. I have just purchased a small player house, and bought myself a chest (which works brilliantly), but after purchasing these, everytime I try to test in Benzor Flats (and any other area) I receive a message telling me "You must purchase a room, and be in it, to sleep here"

udoh :)

ps. Does anyone know what Flawed minerals can be used for?

pps. Thanks for making the SQL/NWNX2 changes, that has a difference, lag is less and I don't get memory errors everytime I try start NWNX2 (I used to get those when started NWNX2, sometimes). Nice work. :)

#193158 Version 7: Problems

Posted by udoh on 16 March 2005 - 03:52 AM in Nordock-CEP-PRC, Plagued Version

There is nothing wrong with the loot drops--it's all in your head, homey. I was getting 1 out of 3 with treasure--about 1 out of 10 with magical treasure. Get out of the flats, and stop fighting goblins.  Even if it is a pretty board. :P

View Post

Well we started 2 new level 1 characters and sent them packing down to the sewers to get a couple of levels. And well, All the drops from the Rats, Fire Bettles and Skeletons, only the standard drop items, and nothing else.

Now I know we haven't left Benzor very much, but I like it. It looks great... :-P

What can I do to test this further, scripts etc.

Cheers
udoh :)

#193047 Version 7: Problems

Posted by udoh on 15 March 2005 - 01:24 PM in Nordock-CEP-PRC, Plagued Version

Well i've just got back from a long gaming session, and boy are we having great fun.

1. I have sorted out the lag issues for me, I ran the server from another PC and the majority of the lag disapeared.

2. I Died earlier (met some toughies that we just couldn't kill) and I did notice something strange with the soul fragment. Is there anywhere i can look that may help?

3. I'm sure there is something funny with the loot, i'm level 12 now and well.. still next to nothing on the bodies, maybe this is releated to NWN-FF too somehow?

4. I think the trash can is a brilliant idea (or the merchant).

5. Question: What is the point in collecting money, when the best items are in the crafting system? (Don't take offense, it was just a question I was asked)

NWN-FF is MUCH better than Broken. :)

Good Luck. Hope We can help in some way. :)

udoh

EDIT: ps. Trash can reminds me of the brilliant yet flawed Dungeon Siege and the "turn to gold spell", any item could "instantly be turned into it's gold equivalent" instead of being picked up and sold and I still needed a mule to carry all my crap. :)

#193100 Version 7: Problems

Excellent Work Horred.

I tried to log onto to your server, and help test, but it wasn't around (not really supprising when you consider the time).

I look forward to version 8.

v10 is cool, I am really enjoying browsing over the items that we can now make.

I think i've managed to find all the other shops, but I ohave found a shortage of shops that sell bows, and I can't find the crafted bow shop in Murlock

#195149 v9 PRC testing results...not good news :(

Posted by udoh on 23 March 2005 - 12:19 PM in Nordock-CEP-PRC, Plagued Version

Hi,

Well there is a way... sort of... We run on a local server, and we use the PRC CC (can be found at http://nwvault.ign.com/Files/other/data/1050041596353.shtml).

The user then has to copy the BIC file from their "localvault" folder and the server admin has to place it in the "servervault\userxxx" folder. This works fine on a LAN, but maybe a bit of a problem over the NET, email and the user needs to know how to move around with files etc.

The program is a JAVA based program, so I had an idea, that maybe one of you talented server admins out there, who have web sites, would like to try and place this file on a web site, and see if some of your users can access it and create characters "remotely". Anyone have any ideas on this PM me.

#198584 Rounding up version 10

Posted by udoh on 07 April 2005 - 11:12 AM in Nordock-CEP-PRC, Plagued Version

I'm going to release version 10 this weekend, I think. Unless something else pops up. No more progress on the Mulrok dungeon--I've been too busy chasing bugs and switching AI systems back and forth, back and forth. If I can find time tomorrow, and have the inspiration, I'll add more floors. Just know that it's a work-in-progress, enjoy what IS there and don't worry about any "broken" links on the bottom floor.

Excellent news, we are really looking forward to seeing the changes in v10.

Once again Horred.

#203729 Problems with installation

Posted by udoh on 06 May 2005 - 06:59 AM in Nordock-CEP-PRC, Plagued Version

But now I got a weird problem: when I load the module, it always tells me: "Login disabled"

Any ideas on that one?

Make sure you have the correct HAK/TLK files installed on the server version of NWN, as well as the Player version.

I think that was the solution to that problem, if i'm wrong someone will correct me.. ;)

#192137 Problem with LETO

Posted by udoh on 09 March 2005 - 12:38 AM in Nordock-CEP-PRC, Plagued Version

I run my NWNServer on my Drive D, Actually I run all my games from drive D, The number of times I have to reinstall Windows, woudl mean that I would be reinstalling my games all the time, so put everything like that on Drive D into a folder called... (wait for it) "GAMES"... brilliant huh... :)
