Heya, while in the component "1] BGII - Unique Thief Avatars (patch)" got the same error as the folk above

Install 1PP before Aurora and Infinity Animations, as noted above.

If I install only the Improved Improved Galactygon's Avatar Switching, and later add the thief avatars (patch + content) on top of the install with an on-going game, would it work, crash, or need a new game to run properly ?

I don't know why it wouldn't work, since animations aren't stored in saved games.

Damn just checked and its crashing here too, wasn't some mods ago.. will uninstall stuff to try and find what did this.

Don't just uninstall stuff at random :P. Install this as noted in several places here (or just wait for the new version of Aurora later today or tomorrow).

Heya Miloch, newest version of Java fixed my problem in that other thread, thanks!

Sorry for the ignorance, but is Infinity Animations supposed to go on a BWP Install ? (I don't remember installing it..)

Ok then so I'll have to uninstall a bit of things til I get to aurora:

As you can see the 'Aurora Vista' was applied right after aurora Posted Image

Edit: Btw, what is causing crashes are the animations that got installed AFTER aurora in the queue ??? I hope this is the actual logic of this thingy.. (hey remember, I'm slow ^^)

Thanks as always! Specially to Erephine, who makes such sweet magic with her mods!!

It may not officially be part of it (yet) but I would highly recommended it, if for no other reason than it'll fix your orogs looking like frost giants and a lot of other stuff like that.

Ok then so I'll have to uninstall a bit of things til I get to aurora

Only 3 mods or so :P. Once you install v5 you needn't bother with IAAurFix.

Btw, what is causing crashes are the animations that got installed AFTER aurora in the queue ???

It is remotely possible, though offhand I don't think those mods add new CREs. Just install Aurora (and IA if you want it) after everything else, except biffing. If you still get crashes then try to post at least a screenshot of the error message if you get one.

For example - you have Mage/Thief character. If you equip leather armor then avatar will be the Thief one and if equip mage robe - avatar switch to Mage one.

You also should look the readme:

1ppv3: Improved Improved Galactygon's Avatar Switching
Like the name suggests, this is an improved version of my original improved version of Galactygon's avatar appearance tweak (to be found in the BGII Tweakpack).

Basically, what this does is it dynamically changes character animations to fit equipped armour (and then dynamically changes it back when unequipped!). While normally robes would not show up for fighter/cleric/thief animations, and armour would not show up for mage animations, this is circumvented by changing the character animation accordingly while such items are equipped.

If you were using the BGII Tweakpack component, it should be uninstalled before installing this. The component is designed to work with the restored thief avatar series, so it is not recommended as a standalone install.

Due to the properly working thief animations, this foregoes a lot of the scripting my old fix relied upon, while offering superior content.

Ok.

But I think there is a misunderstanding :

Imo, THIEVES_GALORE is incompatible with Avatar Morphing Script from BG2tweaks. (not Change Avatar When Wearing Robes or Armor (Galactygon)) ==> tested on Jaheira : after a reload, original avatar go back

This is correct.

Component 3 of 1ppv3: Thieves Galore (i.e. the avatar switching component), if you install it, will revert and lock all player characters to the appropriate animation for their race, class, gender and equipped armour. As in, if you took a human fighter and set them to a dwarven mage animation via the morphing script, the avatar switching component would set them right back to use the human fighter animation.

The same is true for the 'Change Avatar When Wearing Robes or Armor (Galactygon)' component (which is what this replaces), except it's not as smart so you may have to equip appropriate armour for the change to take effect, whereas the version included here will do so automatically.

I think this is a bug:
COPY ~BGMain.exe~ ~BGMain.exe~
PATCH_IF (SOURCE_SIZE == 7839790) BEGIN // is BGMain ToB
PATCH_PRINT ~BG II ToB found (v26498)~
SET found = 1
READ_BYTE "0x444848" "check_r"
PATCH_IF ("%check_r%" = 0xC2) BEGIN
WRITE_BYTE 0x444848 0xED
END
SOURCE_SIZE == 7843840 is for BGMain ToB

SOURCE_SIZE == 7839790

SOURCE_SIZE == 7843840 is for BGMain ToB

Just checked out of curiosity, file properties of bgmain.exe are:
Size: 7 839 790 bytes,
Disk space: 7 843 840 bytes,
so you both are correct to an extent. Don't know how could a file eat up more space than it's size, but apparently somehow it could. The question is, which one of these values is checked by SOURCE_SIZE, and I'd venture a guess that it's actual size, so it's probably correct at 7839790 :blink:

This is from 1pp_female_dwarves
PATCH_IF (SOURCE_SIZE == 7839790 || SOURCE_SIZE == 7843840) BEGIN // ToB v26498

When I changed the code to 7843840 it worked. So I think it is a bug for some people.

Originally, 1PP Female Dwarves only used 7839790 to detect ToB. 7843840 was added when you reported it wasn't detecting your bgmain and I didn't know if this could be an issue for others as well. Now might be a good time for you to ensure that this is not an isolated incident.

Figures. Let them mess with what's on the discs, and they'll throw in some freaky patch (and who knows what else). Well, I guess mods should be checking both file sizes to determine if 26498 is installed.

I'm pretty sure WeiDU counts the actual bytes used in the file, not the size on disk. Though maybe it does the latter in some cases - sounds kind of buggish with WeiDU if so.

Chev's bgmain is actually larger than normal. He posted it in the Female Dwarves thread.

He posted a recent version in the Aurora forum, but I suspect it's the same. The only thing I know of that changes the actual size of the v26498 .exe is some sort of sub-standard no-CD patch. If one must have such a thing, get one that doesn't change the size. (I doubt I can mention further specifics in public, for fear of admins screaming "piracy!" etc., which is absurd, since Chev and the likes of anyone else here discussing this probably all own at least 5 legit copies of the game <_<.)

Note the first post in this thread:

Supported:
BGII SoA, BGII ToB, IWD HoW, IWD TotL, IWD II
with Dwarven Female Avatars installed**

**Note: I figured few, if any, people would be interested in one but not the other, so I didn't go out of my way to support installs without them installed. If you prove me wrong, it should not be a problem to support installs without female dwarves.
