This is my first post to Spellhold so I hope it is in the correct forum.

Had multiple problems with non-Wiedu NTotSC in Baldur's Gate + DSotSC +NTotSC so I decided to switch to the Wiedu version.

With the Wiedu version, I am experiencing problems with DSotSC. I have not made past yet. The problems include:
1) Crashing when traveling from area to area.
2) Unable to load saved games
3) Chests have double items in them

So far I have spent over 200 hours trying to finish NTotSC without much success. Here is my Baldur's Gate Trilogy Setup

System: Windows 98SE, IE 6, with all Microsoft updates; 512 MB of RAM (64 MB shared for video); Athlon XP 2600+; 18.4 GB Partition (8.2 GB free)

Paths: D:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate
D:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA

1) Install full Baldur's Gate
2) Install full Tales of the Sword Coast
3) Install BG Update V. 5512
4) Install full Shadows of Ahm
5) Install full Throne of Bhall
6) Install BG II Update V. 26498
7) Remove all other copies of Baldur's Gate games from the hard drive.
8) Remove all other CD's from the CD and DVD drives.
9) Extract BGT104_Install.RAR
10) Install BGT, Core v104 - Successfully installed
11) Install BGTTweak v6 - All successfully installed
12) Install DSotSC for BGT-Wiedu v 1.95 - Successfully installed
13) Install NTotSC for BGT-Wiedu v 1.55 - ???
14) Install BP+BGT+NTotSCWieduPatch - Successfully installed*
15) Extract BHDSNT4BGT.RAR (note: these files go to the Override directory)
16) Install The Darkest Day V 1.12 - Installation complete**
17) Install TDD-Fix6 - Successfully installed*
18) Install SOSv1.12 - Successfully installed
19) Install BP_BGT_Worldmap_v6.6 - Successfully installed

* Note: DOS window opens and closes very fast. Then Setup file move to end of list.
Rerun setup file and all seems normal
** Note: After "Press any key to continue . . ." expected the readme.txt file. It did not show.

Since this is my first attempt to use Wiedu Mods, I may have the wrong version or wrong order. If anyone has suggestions/recommendations, I will certainly appreciate the help.

Some comments for those of you who make these fantastic mods.
1) More details in the readme files. Particularly the operating system used for development and testing.
2) I love RAR files. One of the benefits of chasing these mods. For the readme file to display before the mod loads.
3) Check the installation for incompatible mods and post an error message before the mod loads.
4) In the readme file, give the order to load programs and mods and where to locate the files.
5) I tip for good work. You might want to include a Tip Jar along the way.

Tom

This means the mod did not actually install. It probably just updated its version of WeiDU.

I'm not an expert on BP-type installs, but several around here are - check out the mega-mod and "BiG World" posts too as far as installation orders.

Several of the "mods" and/or steps you listed, I have NO idea what they are, why, or where they came from. Without going into detail, I think you may have included some mods that were for either non-weidu games, or for the Classic version of the MegaInstall.

OK...
You could scrap your current installation, follow the installation guide-->here, and then start a entire new game.

BUT...
If you're almost finished the BG1 portion of the game --say, almost ready to beat Saverok-- I recommend just struggling along until just you after beat him, but speaking to Belt. You might have to skip the DSotSC/NTotSC quests just to speed the game along.

If you follow this path, then you can fairly safely do a re-install before going to BG2, but still use your current game.
Save you game just before speaking to Belt, uninstall everything, follow the installation guide given above (don't install everything, just those mods you want), then restart your saved game, and move into the BG2 portion.

As for your suggestions, I hear ya. But unless you're willing to take on those tasks, most of 'em ain't gonna happen.

BTW, I think WeiDU now launches the readme before installing; or does the modder have to change their script to allow for this?

Tip Jar is-->here.

I believe this is enabled by a new WeiDU command the modder would have to use ("README" as opposed to the old "AT_INTERACTIVE_EXIT").

Of course, some mods have bugs that make it impossible to find the readme (or they forgot to include the readme in their package, though they have a command to display it), which is possibly what happened above.

I've got a few problems in my Megamod. 1st I kicked almost anyone out of my party (Khalid-Jaheria , Minsc-Dynaheir) and I can't have them back. instead of the dialog I got this message :Khalid has nothing to say.
2nd I can't find any Darkside areas when i got the quest of Jetlaya. On the worldmap it seemed I in the basilisk area . When i used CLUAConsole I got there . In the area DSC04 (the banshee area) some zombi lord distzred my sleep a neverendig conversation. The same convo about the great feeder from bg2 unseeing eye quest. Once I finished it the dialog popped up again and again.
Here is my weidu log:

Here is my weidu log:

It's possible the Worldmap needs better testing/integration with DSotSC etc.

You're using Lost Items v2 right, not v1? I'd assume so, or you'd have bigger dialogue problems than what you reported.

No, the Worldmap works perfectly with DSotSC and NTotSC. It has some bugs with other area instead (u can look at my 3 latest topic in Worldmap mod forum about those).

May be the install screw up something...i suggest to reinstall everything,

Thanx for fast reply since then I reinstalled almost the same i left out some components which has sure problems for example Bg1 ub minor dialog fixes. But it ended up a crash to desktop. I don't know what wrong. Only one thing sure the Thalatyr item upgrade not compatible with the BG1 ub mysterius vial quest.
Maybe improving genearal Ai compoinent of SCS can cause this? I tried to built up my megamod like in the Big world project
pdf.

Yes and No. From my testing if you talk to Thalatyr for the first time after talking to the smith about mysterious vial it will work. The third time you talk to Thalatyr the item upgrade kicks in.

I went to the DSotSC area: wood of forgotten souls(?) where the banshee is located, but exiting from area the others were unreachable. the neverending coversation problem is still there, if I try to rest under the sky.
I used cheat to leave the area, so I work around, but what cause this i wonder. I could be annoying reinstalling the game every 2 days...

BTW: if I talked to Thalantyr several times before completing Nashkel mines the mysterious vial conversation won't appear.

The map works perfectly with those mods, so either your installation didn't work fine or something is not compatible within your install (but they all should be fine). Try to check the debug file for the worldmap and see if there is something strange ...
For example u did install BG1 UB, i don't think it's a nice choice. But for sure it doesn't create the problem with the map ...

~SETUP-SCS.TP2~ #0 #130 // Better calls for help

This is causing #1

Not sure what's causing #2

Is Better Calls for Help so much different than the one in SCSBGT? I never had a rejoining issue with CSCBGT. I'll give it a shot with my new install tonight when I get home.

Yes, I already know about this one.

Hm I 've emcountered the same thing: I can't leave the Forest of forgotten souls. Every time I reinstalled and begun a new game this happened.(I cheated out myself) My weidu log almost the same , but I rather left ou some components like Drizztsaga TutuBGT.

And an other in my recent game I killed the Iron Throne leaders in Candlekeep, but I surrender to the flaming fist mercenary in Baldur's Gate, but after Neb help me to escape, they all become hostile. It didn't happened in previous games a bit odd.

A spoiler requts: Where can I found the way down to the drow in the druegar mines? I stuck in the place where met a dwarf named Trollslayer(?) I found a trapdoor and the stairs up, but both seemed dead end.

Maybe a bit offtopic: Have anynody noticved In Lure of sirine's call, that siding with Syl and killing the pirates does not give any Xp?

This is because the map_mods_links.tbl for DSotSC is still screwed up and points you to Waukeen's Promenade and the Temple of the Black Hand (which hasn't been revealed yet).

Use the "Revised Travel Times" component of Worldmap and you won't have this problem.

And an other in my recent game I killed the Iron Throne leaders in Candlekeep, but I surrender to the flaming fist mercenary in Baldur's Gate, but after Neb help me to escape, they all become hostile. It didn't happened in previous games a bit odd. Normal.

A spoiler requts: Where can I found the way down to the drow in the druegar mines? I stuck in the place where met a dwarf named Trollslayer(?) I found a trapdoor and the stairs up, but both seemed dead end. I think it's in the floor in the same room you met Trollslayer.

Maybe a bit offtopic: Have anynody noticved In Lure of sirine's call, that siding with Syl and killing the pirates does not give any Xp? That's the way the original author designed it.

I think that happens if you finish the Apprentice quest before the vial quest, atleast thats how it was for me

You're right Kai I always did that quest before finishing the mines.

I tried both ways leaid up/down from Flaming Fist headquarters in Otho's quest. But none of them led further, both of them was a deadend. Where can I find the drow leader?
