This is not a batch or a BWP problem. It is a problem which could happen with WeiDU.

i've read and tried to edit the state.ids, but there still is this error message"[SOS/BAF/CBBANDED.BAF] PARSE ERROR at line 8 column 1-45". when i use BiG_World_Installlpack_v5.4 and Fixpack_v6.01 to install, there isn't any error message.

can you email BiG_World_Installlpack_v5.4 and Fixpack_v6.01 to me (my email is meng_x_r@sohu.com) because now i can't find BiG_World_Installlpack_v5.4 and Fixpack_v6.01,thank you very much

Thanks guest. :)

About the patch errors we try to find out, how we can solve this issue as soon as possible. We will let you know if we have news.

We don't recommended to use an older BWP version. It is not up-to-date with the new released mod-versions and you will run into old problems which are fixed, now.

i've read and tried to edit the state.ids

Can you explain/show us how you have fixed SoS?

Greetings Leomar

A Megamod does not mean that you can play all of the mods or all of their content,
but you have more choices or paths through the game.

thank you for your help,i just open the state.ids in the 'script compiler' folder and add one blank line just before "0x00000000 STATE_NORMAL " using the return/enter key. The result is that "STATE_NORMAL " is now on Line 2, with a blank line above it.

i tried to only extart BG2_Fixpack-v6、BGT107-WIP-08-09-28-Install、BGT_NPCSound_v2、TxtMusic_v7、SoSv1.12、BiG_World_Fixpack_v6.02、BiG_World_Installlpack_v5.5、WeiDU-Windows-208 into the BGII - SoA folder , and run the BiG World Install v5.5,there still is the error message.

SoS:
I've heard that you can install SoS with the mentioned error and play without problems (*crossing fingers*).

Restored Textscreen Music:
I think you can't install an english language pack of "Restored Textscreen Music" with a chinese BGT install and that would be the problem. Normally you can install BGT without "Restored Textsceen Music.

NTotSC:
You mean you can install NTotSC v1.60a without errors, but not the dialog-patch v1.62a. Right? I don't know why you get an error then. Can you post your WeiDU.log?

Greetings Leomar

What Leomar meant was that there won't be issues that result from this particular error message.
This doesn't mean that there won't be bugs in the game SoS or even in the whole BWP. You need to distinguish between the overall compatibility between the mods and the bugs that occur within the single mods.

--> BWP tries to make all (good) mods existing playable together. So it reduces compatibility issues between the mods by finding out the right installation order. Although BWP provides a, by now, quite big fixpack which solves not only problems concerning the installation, but also fixes many bugs within the mods, there are still many mods (especially the big ones) which may contain bugs. Fixing those bugs is obviously a part of the BWP, but not its main function. This is also because the authors of BWP are rather translators than coders. The mod authors themself have to fix those bugs.

So, what I wanted to say was, you will foor sure encounter bugs (especially within SoS). So don't be disappointed if that happens. But those bugs will not be the result of the installation error that you had. That's what Leomar wanted to say. ^_^

i have questions about two mods that were omitted from the BiG World Version:

First, Widescreen mod. Why is this marked as incompatible? I have a wide screen monitor and I'd like to use it. Are there errors when using the widescreen mod?

Second, Wild Mage Additions v1.6. On my next playthrough of this whole crazy mess I'd really like to play as a wild mage, with this mod installed, but it is also marked as incompatible. What will happen if I install this mod?

They are not incompatiable, they are just ear marked as for the expert version, meaning that if you don't do the configure the game right, they might cause problems... or make the game really hard if you don't know what to do with th encounter(WMA)... or there are too many spells in your spell book to actually do a real choice, as you can't have stoneskin spells etc. odd problems you can fix with Shadowkeeper...

Wow I haven't posted here in a long time. I think BWP was still on version 3 back then. Anyways, I was looking over the latest version of the guide as I'm thinking of redoing my install, and I ended up becoming completely confused as to why various mods were listed under expert mode. Specifically off the top of my head, I was wondering why is Ascension under expert mode?

Also as a suggestion, perhaps in the next version of the guide you could use icons to explain the reasons that something is listed under expert mode. The reasons that things seemed to be listed in the expert mode seemed to mostly be mostly limited to no longer available, too hard, redundant, unstable, or incompatible with "x" mod. So just make an icon for each one, and put the appropriate ones next to each one of the expert mode items.

At first Jarno is right: Expert-Version means not incompatible. Mods their are incompatible with the BWP are not listed in our guide. However, this is valid only for the older mods. Newer mods which are not listed in our guide are not incompatible, because we try to get the newer mods in our BWP as soon as possible and therfore their are not listed in our guide, yet.

First, Widescreen mod. Why is this marked as incompatible? I have a wide screen monitor and I'd like to use it. Are there errors when using the widescreen mod?

In BWP v5.5 Widescreen Mod is not in the Expert-Version anymore. You can install it without problems, but read the notes in the guide about the mod.

Second, Wild Mage Additions v1.6. On my next playthrough of this whole crazy mess I'd really like to play as a wild mage, with this mod installed, but it is also marked as incompatible.

You can install WildMage without problems. It is a players desicion, only, why this mod is in expert-version.

Specifically off the top of my head, I was wondering why is Ascension under expert mode?

Because of overwriting and not patching files and therefore Ascension causes CTDs in a megamod. We wait for a fixed version.

That is what we want to do: Explain, why the mods are in the expert-version and that will be happen in one of our next BWP versions.

A Megamod does not mean that you can play all of the mods or all of their content,
but you have more choices or paths through the game.

Remember this is evil answer: No where.
To be more whatever(good), here is the explanation: you don't be installing the mods, the BWP(auto installer/fixpack) does it for you. So you just put the mods to the game folder and start the BWP installer. Clear now?

I thought it was still in the expert installation. There should be no problems and I only make one change for myself to allow Rhialto to spawn after BG1 (via a global check). I am almost positive that the wild mage problems in the past were due to a malfunctioning KITLIST.2DA and KIT.IDS form D0Quest Improved AI component. The BWP project addresses this and the correct way to avoid.

Usurper,
I would install it anyway because you like to play WM's if I am not mistaken :D

There is no need to make any changes, the mod is in Expert edition because the encounter is hard for level 1 chars if you don't know what to do;

Is there any rough estimate on when this might be fixed? As I would like to play with Ascension installed, but I'll just skip it if I have to wait something like half a year.

Then why not use the current one? It's inside "the Darkest Day" mod.

 Because I didn't realize that Ascension is in The Darkest Day? I suppose that does make my life a bit easier.
